If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy,
if a blade of grass springing up in the fields has power to move you,
if the simple things of nature have a message that you understand,
rejoice, for your soul is alive.
~ Eleonora Duse ~
“Sometimes, if you stand on the bottom rail of a bridge and lean over to watch the river slipping slowly away beneath you, you will suddenly know everything there is to be known.” Winnie the Pooh

I'm married to Jamey, the love of my life and my best friend. I have two sons (Darrell and Josh), a daughter in law (Sharon) and a sweet little granddaughter (Christian). I live in a small town , which I like most of the time, although it definitely has it's drawbacks. I homeschool Josh which takes up ALOT of my time right now. I'm very much a peace loving person who HATES alot of senseless drama. Don't like to be around arrogance, liars or selfish people who do what feels good to them at the moment without regard for how it affects the lives and hearts of others. I think a person's character is what counts - not the car they drive or clothes they wear or the color of their skin. That's just a small portion of what makes up me.......

a person who loves, who cares,
who sees a person’s need and fills it,
who encourages and lifts people up,
who spends energy on others
rather than herself,
someone who touches each life she enters,
and makes a difference in the world,
because ripples of kindness flow outward
as each person you have touched, touches others.
Your birthday deserves to be a national holiday,
because you are a special treasure
for all that you’ve done.
May the love you have shown to others
return to you, multiplied.
I wish you the happiest of birthdays,
and many, many more,
so that others have time to appreciate you
as much as I do.

But am I aging like fine wine?
They say 39 is the new 25
Could someone please tell my thighs.
My make-up free days are a thing of the past.
I just hope my concealer lasts.
What are these grey hairs atop my head.
Tell me Miss Clairol, should I go red?
These lines on my face are beginning to furrow
Soon they'll be deep enough for a rabbit's burrow
But joking and silliness aside
This has been a wonderful ride
So 40 I'm ready, bring what you may
I've decided, I'm a fine Chardonnay!

Who wondrous things hath done, In whom this world rejoices.
Who, from our mother's arms, Hath led us on our way,
With countless gifts of love, And still is ours today.
With ever joyful hearts and blessed peace to cheer us;
And keep still in grace, and guide us when perplexed;
And free us from all ills, in this world and the next.
The Son and Him Who reigns with Them in highest heaven;
The one eternal God, Whom earth and heaven adore;
For thus it was, is now, and shall be evermore.

Hi Kathy! Hope you had a lovely evening yesterday. ..... well, unfortunately, we don't have Thanksgiving Day in Ireland, UK, Europe ... just in the States and Canada. I wish we did - it's a lovely celebration. We did go one year a few years ago to the home of an American colleague of mine .... he invited us for Thanksgiving Dinner and it was brilliant ... loved it so much. I'll see if I can try and get over to you by Thursday and join in yours!!! xoxoxox
