KATHY PHILLIPS:
What makes a performer special? The ability to empathize through a well-turned lyric, the talent for writing an effective hook, a connection with an audience projected from the stage, and a sense of purpose and passion in an artists' music are all qualities possessed by those who are able to make the transition from musician to performer.

Kathy Phillips has shown that possessing all of these qualities is endearing to fans and critics alike. Her debut album, SWAY (Black Potatoe Records), released in late 2001, was recognized by Courier News/Gannett Newspapers with nods for NJ's Best Female Artist and Best Song for her smooth, polished sound, a graceful connection between rock, pop and folk.

CARRIES YOU AWAY, the latest CD, produced by Matt Angus, is a collection of 11 roots-driven songs, with expressive lyrics, strong melodies, gorgeous harmonies and excellent musicianship.

"The sophomore release from Kathy Phillips ... showcases a confident talent with a strong, emotive voice who can really craft her songs."

Enjoying fall when the weather permits and trying not to think too much about a cold, snowy winter.
As much as I enjoy a good snowfall and a disruption in the work day, the novelty wears off quickly for me. Usually, right after my first 4 hour trek on Route 80 :)

Hi KATHY PHILLIPS, Heaven & Earth is on hiatus now as Stuart Smith and Richie Onori have joined forces with bassist Steve Priest to reform "Sweet". For those of you unfamiliar with the band, Sweet originally formed in the early 70s and went on to sell over 40,000,000 albums with 11 International Top Ten Hits such as "Ballroom Blitz", "Little Willy", "Love is Like Oxygen", "Fox on the Run", "Teenage Rampage", "Action", "Blockbuster", "Hellraiser" and many others.
This reincarnation of the band reformed last year, playing their first show in June, and went on to play festivals throughout Canada and the States and had played to over 300,000 people before the year was out. During this tour last year they recorded a live CD available on Amazon entitled "Sweet, Live in America" which has received rave reviews - pick up a copy and please Add Sweet As Your Friend On Myspace!
