Born & raised in Lincoln, Nebraska. Fell in love with the blues while in college at The Zoo Bar. I ended up starting my own blues band within a few years, and played at The Zoo Bar for nearly 20 years.
I moved to California at the ripe age of 44, took a bit over a year off from music and established myself professionally here in the Bay Area. I played with a band out of Pleasant Hill for a while, and when we folded I went to a blues jam with my friend Jack and I met Johnny Nitro there. He inducted me to the North Beach Blues scene, hired me and the rest is history.
Since then I've had the opportunity to play with Johnny Nitro & The Doorslammers (for nearly two years). I also play with Tony Perez & Second Hand Smoke; and frequently can be found with Zanne Mack & Lunar Groove.
Last year I opened The Delta Blues Festival in Antioch and was hired to play keyboards with Finis Tasby & Kirk Fletcher to close the show. Nervous... yes. Had a blast though. Those guys are incredible musicians and people.
