  • Bio

Katie Brayben writes and sings songs. She also performs them. Her self titled album features humbling performances of her playing alone or accompanied by friends and fellow musicians. .. .. She hails from South East London – home of all great singer / songwriters in the Northern Hemisphere such as Fran McGillivray & Mike Burke - her parents. Influenced by artists such as Joni Mitchell, Donny Hathaway, Bob Dylan and many many more, Katie and her sister Jo were introduced to a wide range of musical stylings from an early age. It was not long before they were playing with other musicians and getting gigs of their own. .. .. After that, Katie went to acting college, turned into a fairy then took off to sing her way around the world in the show Mamma Mia! She has recently returned on top form, and will continue playing the part of Sophie in London’s West End version of the musical. When she’s not doing this, she is most likely found in deep meditation with her favourite collaborator – the piano. .. .. Katie has sung her way around the UK, Ireland, China and America both on and off stage. She has worked up an impressive collection of songs, and will be recording a hand picked selection of them over the coming months. They will feature her, her piano and of course her voice. .. ..
