"I could have been someone. Well, so could anyone."
Here are some songs by a lady called Katie. She'd like you to like them.
Katie Malco plays a right-handed guitar upside down but this shouldn't worry you. The videos below display this in fact. Or you could watch her play a set here:
BeatCast.TV
"The Katie Malco package is very much what you might call a full on DIY affair. Her debut EP, "Four Goodbyes" was released in late December 2008 after being recorded and mixed in the Malco residence by Katie herself, along with friends and fans making the artwork for the CD, posters, and merchandise.
Scotland born London based singer songwriter Katie Malco has a penchant for melodic and catchy pop/indie/folk music, counting Bon Iver, Jenny Lewis, Andrew Bird, and Joni Mitchell amongst her many influences. Enjoying a successful release of her debut EP, Katie looks forward to playing more shows and festivals and beginning work on a mini-album before the year is out. Katie Malco is a promising artist having been hailed as "A spine-chillingly beautiful songwriter blessed with intimate honey-drenched vocals accompanied by swells of indie folk guitar, breaking your heart with a verse and then mending it by the chorus.”
Katie Malco's debut E.P is out now. Its downloadable on iTunes and available on Amazon.com plus some other online shopping type places.
Katie Malco plays regularly here and there around this fair island. She loves to play live and is happy and grateful of any opportunities to do so.
To book, just ask. Either here or at katiemalco@hotmail.co.uk or in real life.
"Frankly, you could stick Katie Malco on the ropiest old tune going and she’d not only make it look good, but sound great. Talent is her middle name." - BBC weekender.
"Few will write a tear-stained love song; and even less will make it sound as spine-chillingly beautiful as Katie Malco...she maybe a woman scorned but she still delivers it with the voice of an angel." - BBC
"Only 21, and yet such great songs and such an incredible voice..." - www.angmoh.dk
"You're going to be a Joni Mitchell one day, I just know it." - Liam Dullaghan
"Katie Malco is surely set to receive the acclaim she so richly deserves." - Chris O'Toole, pennyblackmusic.co.uk
"...She sings heartfelt folk songs with a beautiful voice. Think Joni Mitchell but better. Yes, I went there." - Kick The Plug
We just thought we'd send you a message to alert you about our video for our debut single Prism. We released the track from our upcoming album "To The Rest of The World" last month. It is now available via iTunes, Amazon and via SMS in the UK. Text "Track 3852" to 83262 and a reply will tell you how to download to your computer. We are obviously working hard to get up as high as possible in the charts so any help will be very much appreciated!
Also, we have our new youtube video! If you have a youtube account please comment the page as to what you think :)
Thanks again for your continued support for our music and MySpace friendship!
As you may or may not be aware SoundARC hold a charity gig every year at Club 85 in Hitchin in aid of the Garden House Hospice in Letchworth, and this year we are going to try something a little different from previous years.
This year we are going to take over the club and host 37 acts in one weekend putting full bands upstairs and acoustic acts downstairs in an event that we are calling ARCfest!
It all starts on Friday 4th December at 7pm and then continues on through Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th from 12pm-11pm
As well as raising money for the Garden House Hospice in Letchworth, ARCfest will showcase all the different genres of bands that we at SoundARC have come across over the last 4 and a half years. Over this weekend a lot of the acts that you will see donââ¬â¢t get a chance to play a great local venue like Club 85, So as well as hearing new music you will see all manors of genres and styles from acoustic - Metal - Indie - Rock - Punk - Electro - Ska - Funk - Hip Hop/Rap - Alternative - Rhythm & Blues - Reggae - Grunge and loads more that I cant remember!

I do have actually doubts about my postman's abilities, but I think I'll do that anyway. Will make up for the lack of gigs. Hopefully see you sometime soon for some coach/tooth/you fun! x
The guitar is pretty neat. We didn't get it cos Hazel drove us and I thought it might've been weird. Also cos there was no room in the car. I bought Scar a new keyboard, it's ace.
I miss you, we haven't hung out in a while and I've been in Dundee all weekend. xx
