Katie Miller (“Kamille”) is a Singer and Pianist from Manchester. She is an experienced studio and recording artist and her performances vary from intimate piano/vocal sets to fronting six piece funk bands.
Katie has been involved with music since her early years in youth Choirs and Brass Band, all the way to graduating with a BA HONS Music Degree from the Sir Paul McCartney inspired ‘Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts’ (LIPA) in 2007.
Katie’s most exciting moment at LIPA was when she one of a few selected students to have a one to one songwriting session with Sir Paul. It was surreal to have the Beatles star singing harmonies to her own material, then even more surprising when her tutor later told her that he was whistling her song ‘Brand New’ in the corridor. Katie was also extremely overwhelmed when her song ‘You Fall, I Fall’ was selected by Robin Gibb of The Bee Gees, to feature on itunes and appear on a six track compilation of his favourite Artists from throughout the University.
She has showcased her front woman abilities on a regional/European tour with the “Diesler Live Experience”, and featured with the band on this year's HedKandi Lounge Compilation with their nu jazz/funk collaboration, 'Carla's Beat'. Their highlights include playing around Europe, at the prestigious Jazz Café in London, and doing a live radio performance for the BBC 6music’s funk and soul show hosted by Craig Charles. The band will be working on new material in the new year.
Katie also enjoys playing closer to home for friends, family and other punters at The Living Room on Deansgate, and Blackhouse Bar and Grills in the area. These solo piano/vocal gigs showcase her own material alongside an eclectic repertoire of stripped down cover renditions with everything from Aretha Franklin to Kings of Leon.
With regular performance and songwriting being a main priority, Katie also balances her time with steady modeling and television work after being taken on by ‘Boss Model Management’, Manchester. Her time at LIPA included acting and dance classes, which have helped her be an all round performer.
Katie is more ready than ever to take things to the next level by working and collaborating with creative professionals in the Industry, and is hoping to further shape and evolve herself into a successful artist.
