Life, love, peace, friendships, the pursuit of happ"y"ness ...
Music
Anything that makes me feel good or inclines me to dance, which is rare unless a gentleman can lead. I'm not terribly fond of rap or techno ... although introducing yourself to a little bit of everything is the key to living life to its fullest. Nothing beats listening to live blues and jazz while having a screaming discussion with close friends over cocktails! I'm a big Cher fan for many reasons; maybe I was a gay man in a past life. She's a survivor.
Movies
Soooooo many! I often forget the titles. Maybe I'll try the new application to select from a list and post them towards the bottom of my page ... maybe not. My preference is psycho-thrillers; I must have also been a criminal psychiatrist in a past life. Comedies are enjoyable as laughter is good for the soul; and yes, I do enjoy an occasional chick flick.
Television
Grey's Anatomy, ER, House, Desperate Housewives, SVU, DWTS ...
Heroes
I think heroism is so very important and so terribly misconstrued in our society. Usually the word "hero" is just a tag-along descriptive of something having to do with a sports figure or cartoon character. I realized I hadn't really thought about this to the point of writing an appropriate "list" on my profile. Although I believe few people actually read profiles; I still felt it necessary to put a little time into it and clear things up in my own mind and to my friends who read me.
I've noticed that a lot of Christians list God as their hero; I did not. Not because I don't believe in His existence; but, because my Christian beliefs can't be described by just tacking a simple label on something so far beyond human comprehension that it can't be described with one word. As always, your comments are welcome.
In my opinion "hero" is a BIG word with FEW letters. Seeking a better understanding of it, I drifted off to Wikipedia to see how they defined it, only to discover that the majority of their references were to the Greek Gods/Goddesses … lol … go figure … In all my searching, and life experiences, here is a definition I feel somewhat comfortable with:
A hero and/or heroine refer(s) to characters that, in the face of danger and adversity or from a position of weakness, display courage and self-sacrifice for the greater good of humanity. They act as a protector, defender, or guardian selflessly.
I haven't found many people who fit this definition, other than: mothers (those of you who aren't one won't understand so I won't elaborate here; although, I'll likely post a blog soon so feel free to subscribe if you'd like to see it); our military men and women who leave their families behind with some vain hope that our society will benefit in the never-ending battle between good and evil; firefighters who run into burning buildings sacrificing, not only their lives, but also those who love them and hold them dear; and some police officers who yield their power in an appropriate manner to benefit society at large rather than just nurturing their egos strutting around with a gun on their hips as if they were gods.
My dad is my ultimate hero, my children who have unknowingly been through Hell believing it's a state of normalcy all people endure, but keep landing on their feet (quite literally) nonetheless, my friend Marlee who always stands up for what she believes in and deployed in January to an unknown location for the next eighteen-months, and others … well, I hope to meet them along the way; at least as long as I'm free to roam this place called Earth.
I love to write. It gives me insight into my soul and allows others to see a side of me that often can't be seen any other way.

About me: Does anyone really read this stuff (a.k.a. fluff)? I don't think so ... unless they are an insomniac and trying to find their way to sleep. I thought about deleting it all, but read away if you must! Just remember, this is only one of the many facets of me! A flat computer monitor can only provide so much ... besides, if you live your life behind the screen, that might be a hint that you and I might not mesh!
Much of the time it seems people are full of fluff. Think of it as bits of pink cotton candy that melts in your mouth as some of it sticks to your face and your fingers making you sticky and wanting someone to lick you clean. If you're terribly lonely maybe your dog can help ;p Hey! You're the one who decided to keep reading. I did warn you ;)
1966 classic edition, low miles, all original parts, minimal body damage, doesn't run well but walks, likes to bike, hike, and sometimes be a home body watching movies and hot tubbing in the winter months, and basking in the sun and barbecuing with a small intimate group of friends and family in the summer months. I love to laugh and the more people I meet, I think God must have a pretty keen sense of humor!!!
I love to write poetry, short stories, and anything that's on my mind so as to share it with the world. I like motorcycles and target shooting. I love the sunshine on my face, the breeze in my hair, and stinky puppy kisses. I'm an animal lover through and through. I enjoy playing basketball even though I'm not tall enough to participate in an actual game. I love really good rich coffee, especially Caramel Macchiatos from Starbucks ... actually anything caramel is simply sensational! I love wearing sexy high-heeled shoes (the taller the better!), being a girly-girl, dressing faddish, sexy, fun, and funky. I enjoy relaxing by the fireplace sipping a glass of wine and watching movies on a chilly evening. Watching the stars from anywhere. A beach and the sound of the waves rolling in. Intelligent conversation, dining with friends, martinis, margaritas, and laughing until my stomach hurts. A sexy voice, kissing, hugging, holding hands, the smell in the air after it rains, the scent of a fine cigar being smoked by a gentleman nearby (are there any left?), rainbows, and going for walks.
I'm half Greek and half Italian, love to laugh, cook, eat, travel, teach, learn, and try to enjoy all that life has to offer! I've had a lot of life experiences that have taught me who I am and what I want. One important thing I've learned is there are times you have to take chances in order to find who or what you're looking for. Many people are too afraid. Are you? I hope not. Life is short. You always win ... sometimes by actually getting what you want and others by learning the lesson, moving forward, and allowing your experiences to make you a better person.
Who I'd like to meet: There are too many people I'd like to meet, if for no other reason than to share my thoughts with them, and it wouldn't even cost them a penny! I'd likely end up in a fed pen somewhere for speaking my mind ... or state ...
... My list includes political, historical, and public figures, both past and present. Whether or not any of them would be willing to listen is quite another story. Oh how I long to tell the world what I think!!!
I hope you enjoy some of my favorite tunes while you're visiting my page! They're favorites for a reason; which you won't understand unless you really know me. YES; I realize Prince (or whatever he wants to be called this week) may or may not be on my list depending on the day. It's an old college thing with a somewhat lovely and somewhat twisted story behind it ... so LET IT GO ALREADY!!! There may also be a couple of oldies from high school from time to time. I'm over it ... shouldn't you be? ;p
I love my kids more than life itself! Although they are in my life part-time, they are in my heart full-time.
..
Family: All you need is love, patience, kindness, understanding, problem-solving skills, the ability to mediate, organize, create, communicate, forgive, let things slide, selective listening, separate houses, and an occasional cocktail!

You Are a Pundit Blogger!
Your blog is smart, insightful, and always a quality read.
Truly appreciated by many, surpassed by only a few
Sometimes when i look around, all i see is misery, despair, frustration and pain...
Then, i close my eyes, take a couple deep breaths, RELAX...And ask myself, "WHAT IF all I saw was what I WANTED TO SEE?" Then, I open my eyes. I see the sun, I see the blue sky, I see my girls smiling back at me, I see life...
And then, lo and behold, I see nothing but OPPORTUNITY...
Thanks for reading. And if you enjoy these little sayings I send out, take a look at my site, http://TankJones.com and take a look at my blogs. You can also see a lot of pics of events I've done, music I've made and learn about my foundation.
