I am a modern homesteader, which now means being as self sufficient as possible. I live in the state forest land in a secluded area, in a off the grid house and generate all my own power with solar panels (No Electric Bill for going on 9 years!).
I am a Christian and live by my faith.
I like to write and have been published in Countryside Magazine, Mother Earth News, American Profile Magazine and Horse & Rider Magazine. I also write poetry and short stories. Plus, I have a blog called Homesteading On The Internet at http://katlupesblog.blogspot.com/ and try to write there as often as I can.
I live in the forest and use as much herbal medicines as I can. Do not use allopath medicines. I gather almost all of my medicinal plants around my own home.Music

First and foremost is Jesus Christ! He SAVED us all! Gave us eternal life plus was the man to pattern your life after.
Second would be tie between my wonderful husband and my fantastic father! My father is pushing 90 years old and works around home every day and is a wonderful example for anyone to follow.
My husband is like my father in some ways in that he is a hard worker and does so much and takes the best care of me just like my Daddy always did!
My mother and my mother-in-law who are both in heaven now were both awesome heroes to me. My mother taught me so much and half the stuff I didn't pay enough attention to at the time, but now I am remembering it all. My mother-in-law I have written about on my blog here and you would need to read them to understand the part she has played and keeps playing in my life.
Jackie Clay and Carla Emery are my two homesteading heroes. They provide me the information whenever I can't find it. Jackie Clay has a blog at the Backwoods Home Magazine site and she is great. Caral Emery's book The Encylopedia of Country Living is only 2nd to the Bible in my house!

About me:
I am a writer, who mostly writes about my life as a modern homesteader and living off-the-grid, using solar to generate my power supply. I am married to a wonderful man who is a musician, a computer genuis, a real life horse whisperer, a outdoorsman, a self taught builder......and the love of my life.
I have a grown son, who treats his Mom pretty good. He is a sensitive, decent man and I am proud of him. I just wish he could find the love of his life and be happy with her.
I love animals! Especially cats, horses, dogs and chickens. All my animals are special to me and I treat them like little (or big, whatever the case may be) people.
I live in the state forest in upstate New York. I love the forest and being out here away from people and crowds. I like to gather wild foods, and just observe my birds who flock to my bird feeder.

it's been a while!!
it's insane over here!! we bought a huge church and we did a major change in it.. turned it into a studio!! quite unusual I know... lol so new music is coming soon!!

Just Imagine, Having this much Love for someone. I know of no one, But this man Jesus.
He did this for you and me, oh what love He has for us. No Greater Love, than this…
Dear friend, with His hands tied they falsely accused Him, they mocked and cursed at Him, they called Him a devil. Then they spit on Him, they plucked out His beard, they laughed at Him. Then
They stripped Him of His clothing, and with a whip with little balls with spurs on them at the end of each strand they whipped Him. They gave Him 39 stripes on His body.
Oh what pain and agony He suffered, as the little balls with spurs ripped chunks of flesh from His body. Oh how He must have yelled and cried, at each stroke of the whip. Oh how, He must have felt so alone and so unloved. Just Imagine…
After all of that pain and suffering, they put a crown of thorns on His head and they made Him carry His cross they were going to put Him on. Weak and bleeding, Jesus, just being barely able to walk, carried His cross, falling down along the way. A man from the crowd stepped out and helped Jesus, pickup the cross and helped Him carry it. When Jesus, reached Golgotha (Calvary) They put Him on the cross and drove huge spike nails, in His hands and feet. At every stroke of the hammer as the nails went into His hands and feet, He yells with agonizing pain.
Then they stood the cross up, they laughed and mocked Him some more. Then they stuck a spear into His side. Just Imagine…
There at Calvary, Jesus, was Crucified, He let out a loud cry and said Father Forgive Them. And died for you and me… Dear friend, I don’t know about you, but I know that there never will ever be anyone that Loves us like Jesus…
If you haven’t already, won’t you Please, make Jesus, The Lord of Your Life? Just call His name and ask Him to forgive you, and to come into your heart… He will, He Loves you so much...
