GeneralPainting, Sculpture, Reading, Drawing, Sketching, Architecture, Cocktail Parties, Live Jazz, Interesting People, Film....Oh man, I can't even list them all!

SECOND SATURDAY: Leave the children at home for this party…cocktails, art, food, live bands, and good company are the names of the game at this monthly social event! New season begins June 2008.
MusicSHADES OF JAZZ: Sponsored by Blue Note, our three once-a-month jazz sensations on warm summer evenings, begins every June. Curated by legendary jazz guitarist John Scofield, Shades of Jazz features his best and newest colleagues on the music scene, with whom a funky jam session with John at the end leaves everyone clamoring for more. Have some of our Captain Lawrence brew, our lovely wine, and bring a picnic dinner and your children.

Cuban drumming sensation Francisco Mela jams with John Scofield at our July '07 Shades of Jazz concert.

MoviesFILM: Our first Film Series began in June 2007, with The Secret Lives of Dentists, Heart of Gold, and Waiting for Guffman. Organized by local film editor Andy Keir, the films were followed by a Q&A and commentary with a person involved with each film (Campbell Scott, Andy Keir and Bob Balaban.)

Kids Design Glass Winner!

We are pleased to announce that Austen Paris (age 11) is the winner of our Kids Design Glass contest. His drawing, titled The Firebird, will be transformed into glass by the Museum of Glass hot shop team. Stay tuned for details about this KMA event featuring a live video feed to the West Coast. Over 750 children submitted drawings for this popular contest. It was a treat to view each one. Although there could only be one winner, KMA is pleased to also have 16 honorable mentions. The curators and staff at KMA are beyond thrilled and impressed with the talent and number of budding artists in the community. Thank you to all participants!

Our 9th Annual Literary Lunch, held on December 3rd in
Terrytown, NY, was a tremendous success with 3 notable authors on the panel (from left to right), Michael Beschloss, Jeffrey Toobin, and Thomas Edsall

The Katonah Museum of Art celebrates the unique pleasures of the visual arts as a non-collecting facility devoted to changing exhibitions and educational programs. In a building designed by Edward Larrabee Barnes, the Museum originates six major exhibitions annually and offers an extensive range of activities to engage visitors of all ages. Exhibitions present the "best of art" from the past to the present, spanning the spectrum of cultures, media, historical periods, and social issues.

Museum Hours:
Tuesday through
Saturday: 10am - 5pm
Sunday: 12pm - 5 pm
Closed Mondays
Who I'd like to meet:
Young art seekers, art lovers, art and party afficionados from far and wide. I'm not willing to relocate, but if you come to me, I'm sure the compromise will be clear.
