About me:
Ghost Town
He’s got a secret. She's a poet behind closed doors. He’ll do anything for money… These three characters and more make up “Ghost Town,” the hot, new RE*Generation novella. Get the novella on your Virgin Mobile phone—and check out the website to see character pics, bios, blogs—and to write to them! Love, lies, school, sports, drugs, crime, sex—“Ghost Town” is every thriller you’ve seen, every soap you’ve followed, every song you sing—and more. “Ghost Town” will be available on August 14—to sign-up in advance, text “Ghost” to 1234 on your Virgin Mobile phone.
Nobody knows Kat’s real name or where she’s from, as she’s so secretive. She got her name from her first night on the street when a black cat crossed her path, hissing, and scared her into falling against a wall, where she blacked out. When she woke, most of her clothes were gone and she was bleeding.
Her attacker left her a nasty scar by her left eye, so she took a rock and carved a cross tattoo into her skin right over it. “Nobody marks me,” she’s been heard to growl.
Kat says she got her name when a john tried to mess with her and she clawed his face so badly his own mother didn’t recognize him. The story sticks, though, and people who know her never mess with her.
What the squat does know about Kat is that her mom was dead and her dad was a drunk. She’s hinted about being abused by both him and his friends, but nobody is brave enough to ask her what really happened.
Kat is very emotional and a talented poet, but nobody from the squat knows that, and she works hard to keep it that way. She makes it a point to scorn “goody two shoes” who go to school and study. All they know is that she’s got a notebook that she guards with her life, and nobody is allowed to touch it—lest they want to be “Kat scratched.”
Ace and Kat have a close relationship, but since neither believes in love, they live day to day as “friends with benefits,” even if they both know it’s something more.
