An inspired and passionate Soul-stress, Kattimoni aka Katt Beames has forgone several artistic evolutions (and revolutions) in her short, yet accomplished music career. A natural free spirit, with a deep affinity for creative and performing arts from a young age, Katt set about on a world-wide solo expedition, travelling and living in over 13 different countries over several years, completely immersing herself and absorbing different cultures, traditions, lifestyles and art forms from all around the world. From her early beginnings with music, busking on the streets of Europe and Quebec, Katt returned home to record her first self-titled EP in 2008. A soulful, organic fusion of folk and melodic, acoustic roots, the singer/songwriter instantly provoked attention with her powerful raw energy and charismatic stage presence. Winning several battle of the bands competitions and being invited to participate in Surf Coast's Kool Skools recording project, Freeza Central's 'The Push' Mentoring and recording project, Katt also took out the Grand finalist title at The Melbourne Fresh Music Industry Showcase. In 2009 Katt Beames and her band 'The SoulaR Sky' released their first full length studio album, 'Elixir.' This time moving further into the Blues and Roots realm, showcasing an eclectic and unique collection of beautifully crafted songs. "Solid swingin' grooves, crisp rootsy guitar…laced with vocals that move from being smooth and sweet as honey in one moment – and powerful, rich and smoky in the next." Following up the release of 'Elixir,' Katt Beames & the SoulaR Sky set out on a national album launch tour appearing at Port Fairy Folk Festival, St Kilda Festival, Mordialloc Festival, Festival of the Sea & the Ostara Festival. After taking some time out to study Jazz and contemporary music at NMIT, Katt burst back into the Melbourne music scene in 2011 with her vibrant, explosive new project, Kattimoni. Juicy soul based compositions with a deep funk vibe, bass-heavy hip-hop grooves, tasty jazz infused horn hooks layered with Katt's distinctive honey-smoke vocals, energized stage vibe and free-flowin' Soul-mama attitude.
