Boyd and Wain are an award winning English and American Acoustic Folk duo. They make music for people who still like to think, laugh and tap their toes. Katy’s songs are fresh and witty observations on society today, the very definition of the modern folk song. Benny’s fiddlin’ is just plain brilliant. They this year they won the impressive Trowbridge Village Pump Festival Unsigned Artist Competition.
Boyd and Wain have just finished their first album, out at the end of 2009. They are playing major festivals all over the UK this year, and are planning a US tour in the spring 2009 taking in New York, Nashville, Atlanta and California.
Katy Boyd is an award winning songwriter. After winning the prestigious West Coast Songwriter’s Association’s annual song writing contest years ago, Katy ran off to England for adventure.
Benny Wain was born into a musical family, playing fiddle with his family’s folk band at the age of 12. Benny has shared a stage with the Oyster Band, Shane McGowan and the Popes, the Dubliners and Davey Arthur. Benny’s bright red Electric Violin is the result of an endorsement by Bridge Violins.

How did the US tour go? I love playing in the US, but I can seldom afford to get out there to tour. Such great audiences :-)
Saw a really great picture of you two from Writers Nite at Pizza Pelon in Nashville. I will try to get you a copy of it. Hurry back to Hit Song Casa. My grand daughter wants to play some chords she learned for you. Joyce
Hey You Two! Glad you are having fun in California. Miss ya here back in Tennessee! Hurry back to Hit Song Casa asap. My grand daughter is writing songs now. Thanks for showing her those guitar chords Katy! Joyce
Haven't booked any London gigs yet. Will be coming over once a month in December, January, February. My regular haunt is the 606 Club in Chelsea. Great little cellar jazz room that for some reason or another keeps having me back! Good luck on your CD. I see you're gigging in Paso Robles! I used to go to school at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, just down the road. Have fun in sunny California!
Katy and Benny - It was so nice to get to meet you in Nashville. I look forward to seeing you again here in ATLANTA! I have an old friend who's a great songwriter - Pierce Pettis - and he's getting ready to go and sing in London. I told him I'd met you two and he wrote this: "tell Katy & Benny to come see me at TwickFolk (at The Cabbage Patch Pub) in Twickenham (London) on Oct 4th!" I didn't know if you'd be back home by then, but if you are - go check Pierce out and tell him "hi" from me! Small world for us musicians! :-)
