What started off as something interesting has lead to a dedicated effort to help fight children’s cancer. Louis and John decided back in February of 2006 that it would be great to help bring awareness to children’s cancer and bring some money for the cause by creating an expedition.
Kayaking the Mississippi thus came about.
We were lucky enough to secure an unpaid month off of work. Starting at Lake Itasca, Minnesota we will be navigating through the headwaters of Mississippi River and continuing along the river to the end where he empties into the Gulf of Mexico south of Venice, Louisiana.
The length of the trip is approx. 2,350 miles taking us through 10 states and we expect to complete the trip in 30 days or less.

As the final approach to your adventure on the Mississippi nears, I want to say best of luck in your finals prep and I am sorry that we can not join you all on this journey.
