About me:

Hmmm - new Myspace so I should write a new profile I suppose!

Why do these things always sound like a dating advert? Kay, single, 37, GSOH, own house and car, own hair and teeth....

A Mancunian (red) by birth, I'm exiled on the Lancashire/Cumbrian border - although I like to get down to Manchester whenever possible. My main interests at the moment are my music - have been having a major James obsession since their last tour. I've been a fan for years but it was only when I saw them in Blackpool in 2008 (as well as Leeds and GMEX twice!) that I fell in love with their music all over again and I've now booked to go to both T in the Park and V Festival, mainly to see them live (gobsmackingly stunning live - easily the best band I've seen).

Current news is that I'm moving house in April/May - had an offer I couldn't refuse to rent a 4-bed detached in its own grounds with room for all my old vinyl and a music room, so watch out for the housewarming invites. Certainly won't be advertising on here though, after seeing people's houses trashed in the papers!

Interests

  • General

    Football - particularly FC United of Manchester, the breakaway club formed by the fans when Glazer took over at Man United and turned the richest club in the world into the poorest at a stroke.

    Am also a qualified archaeologist, although I knackered my ankles looking for Roman remains so prefer wandering around ancient sites now rather than digging in muddy holes!

  • Music

    Loads of stuff - mainly indie, rock, late 70s/80s/early 90s. Fave bands: James, Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Smiths, New Order, Joy Division, U2, Bowie, Billy Bragg, Levellers. Currently listening to Ainslie Henderson and Andy Diagram's solo stuff- never used to like jazz but Andy's stuff is far from traditional! Going to T in the Park and both days at V Festival this year - mainly to see James but looking forward to hearing lots of new stuff too.

  • Movies

    Not a great film watcher, can't sit through most of them without getting bored!

  • Television

    Not much worth watching on telly these days - mainly switch on for the footy and QI/Mock The Week.

  • Books

    About to read: John Peel's biography. Just re-read: Folklore, Stuart Maconie. Looking forward to the next Terry Pratchett book.
