Born and blossomed in the beautiful island called Grenada, growing up in a full house, the aspiring rapper known as Kay Kateeze is no stranger to hard times and struggle. Inspired by her life Kay’s gift was brought to light, the female rapper has been writing songs since she was seven years old. Labeled as a tomboy growing up on the island Kay spent barefooted days hoping river stones, sitting on blocks at the corner, climbing trees and getting into trouble with her twin sister.
Lil Kim, Foxy Brown and Eve are a few ladies who Kay looks up to that paved the way for female emcees. When asked why try in this competitive world of music, Kay responded “I love music! It is said you’ll only be happy at your job if you enjoy what you do, well I’m doing what I enjoy while making others happy”.
By age nine Kay was flirting with the idea of being a star, and never looked back. She believes that everyone has their own individual dream, and hers is about to come true with hard work and perseverance. Kay believes a new era has dawned on yet another talented female rapper in a game dominated by men.
With a warm innocent smile, a slamming hot model figure that can only be explained by the word “DAMM”, with a bad girl way about her this flower is as dangerous as a rose with sharp thorns or any emcee. The princess who is no sleeping beauty has been busy, she’s featured on the hit song “Shake dat body” with Don Skilachi, Kay also worked with calypso prince Talpree on a single called “Get Wet“ recorded in Grenada, and recently finished a movie "The Healing Game” also filmed in Grenada. Kay Kateeze was also the only female artist to make “The Flow 93.5 Soul Search Hip-Hop “top 20.
