In 2006 the sisters Ruth Pokorra (guitar,vocals) and Esther Fischer (vocals) started to write some Songs together. After half a year they decided to play the songs not only in a duo and so they searched for musicians to play with. It was in the summer 2007, when they founded the band „Kaylatones“.
A drummer, a bass-player and a saxophone player joined the duo. But in the next 6 – 8 months the Lineup changed almost completely. Especially for Esther the travelling to the rehersal took too much time because she lives in Frankfurt. The saxophone was replaced by a guitar which is played by Thorsten Kaiser. The new drummer is Wouter Gulikers. After searching a while for a new singer, Ruth decided to sing herself in the band. She also started to write own lyrcis. The bass-player Marcel Ahne is in the band from beginning in 2007.
All musicians beside the bass-player are studying Jazz at the Conservatorium Maastricht.
At the moment they have a repertoire from about 1 hour and they are working on new songs.
