About me:
I hate talking on the phone with strangers to the point that I need a phobia to describe it. It's not telephonophobia per se--I have no problems with the machines as inanimate objects. I do know how to use a cell phone. Hell, I worked at Nokia for two years, and I don't mean a kiosk at the mall.

No, it's phonophobia. Fear of one's own voice (as echoed in that hollow chamber of the receiver).

It's all good. I understand people being busy during the summer. I've been trying 2 keep myself entertained with parties etc. So far this summer has had its ups and downs.
I'm just hoping we have a couple more summery days so I can go swimming:)

Well, congrats on the vacation--you deserve it!

I'll let you know when they publish the new Tudor women book. It's going to print right now. That always takes a couple of months.

Haha. I do believe you're right about the hair thing. Someone should write a book about that... I mean, a really good, interesting book. When's the last time you read a good book about hair? It is a fascinating thing. I'm pretty sure I'd read it if someone wrote it... (*thinking*)

Hey, Kaytie,
Not sure if I commented on it already, but I really like your profile picture and the haircut. If I ever get a style like that, it would have to be a wig. I like the look on me, but it takes my hair too long to grow back.

Hi Kaytie, ,
Stopping by to say hello and share some pictures with you from this island that I love….I have been working a lot lately , but ran away one day last week to play on the beaches..
I Hope that all is going very well for you and that you are having a great summer filled with writing reading and fun adventures...

I love what you've done with the place. Not to mention the hair. Your dangerously toying with fierceness.

Hey girl. What's up? Long time no talk. I have a new book coming out in about 3 months about Tudor women. Finished my second doctorate and am now doing some faculty training.
Anything new with you?

Hi Katie,
This might be something you will enjoy.. I was looking for anything by Edith Sitwell and her reading Facade and found this..

LANGUAGE.. *:~D

Interactive Live Art Event
at the Britisih Library, Feb 2005
Commissioned by the British Library as part of a Pearson Creative Research Fellowship

Eight actors ranging in age from 12 to 70 were transformed into 'human gramophones' who performed pieces inspired by recordings of 'nonsense' in the English language from the Drama & Literature collection of the Sound Archive.

The source material ranged from historical recordings of experimental literature read by their authors (James Joyce, Gertrude Stein, Edith Sitwell, etc) or interpreted by acclaimed voice actors (Peter Pears, David Davis, etc reading Edward Lear or Lewis Carroll, etc) to recordings of 'sound poetry' from the 70s to recordings by British comedians (Spike Milligan, etc).

The focus was on material that made sense only when heard or read aloud.
The limitations and artefacts of sound recording technologies were also as much a part of the work as the words themselves: the 'human gramophones' hissed, skipped, slowed down or got caught in a groove.

It was up to the audience to keep winding up the 'human gramophones' and to place their fingers on the records to play them.
A sonic garden was thus created in the centre of the British Library, with a range of different voices coming from different directions,

Thanks for the add. I'm a new Harper Perennial author, reaching out to some of Harper Perennial’s book-loving friends.

BEING WRITTEN is my first novel, and it will be released on September 9. It’s the story of a man who knows he’s a minor character in a book and the lengths to which he will go to win a bigger part.

Here’s a one-minute video about the book:

You can find out more on my MySpace profile and
