What is the first thing he asks the nurse----is he or she "CONSCIOUS"???? Why the word "CONSCIOUS"???? Because conscious means "TO BE AWARE; MENTALLY AWAKE OR ALERT" LOOK IT UP. So is conscious music a bad thing???? This ain't no self-righteous mumbo jumbo cuz I ain't no different from you or nobody else in this world no matter ya color, religion, set, or vibe. I just happen to be from the inner city of Chicago which is no different from ANY other inner city in the US. I can't say overseas cuz I've never been there. When you grow up here you live in the same neighborhood and run across or fraternize with revolutionaries, pimps, gangbangers, killers, scholars, blue collars, dope dealers, family men, family women, ministers, prostitutes, homeless, college students, unemployed cats who just chill, professionals, crooked police, guys u grew up with that become police, and on and on at some point in ya life. But I say that to say WE are all in the same boat. So my music is from that perspective. It's the voice and the pulse of what's going on. If Curtis Mayfield was an MC he'd sound like me. I don't have any connections to industry insiders or outsiders for that matter so it's not a riddle why I'm not on but my music is AFRICA HOT!!!!!! ya dig??? Just lettin ya know I'm me---a rhyme specialist who can spit to ANY BEAT, come off, and still be me. And I'm blessed to be around ultra talented producers like my main man Dom P, Ty Lanski, Mr. Diggs, Gooch, J-Milla, the Supa Lowery Bros(I happen to be a member of their band---I'm lucky) and Mike DiSalvo----he's like a 26 year old Rick Rubin lol---engineer extroidanaire, producer etc----he's the reason the tracks sound nice and "crispy". I keep it simple so the people will understand cuz it's the people who my music is in tune with but keep it true to the art of lyricism and wordplay. My music ain't soft and it ain't hard.
