Two sisters, Moka and Ruka, raised both in Fukuoka and Hiroshima, Japan, have come a long way to achieve their dreams of making great music.
Ruka is now in their hometown, Fukuoka, where they spent their early childhood.
Moka resides in Atlanta, Georgia where she worked as a recording engineer for the Grammy Award winner, rap duo, OutKast at Stankonia Recording Studio back in 2002.
Music has been their passion all their lives and they both have enriched their musical talents in their own different ways.
Besides the piano that they both played at a young age, Ruka have majored in music at Hiroshima Jyogakuin University where she studied music history. She has also traveled through Europe to experience the history of classical music while she attended school.
Moka went to Conservatory of Recording, Arts & Sciences in Arizona in 2001 where she studied music production, recording, and mixing techniques. After she graduated, Moka furthered her music career as a recording engineer at Stankonia Studio in Atlanta. She had the opportunity to work with some of the greatest artists and producers from Atlanta, OutKast, Lil Jon, and Organized Noize just to name a few, while she worked between 2002 and 2003. She also won a Grammy as a recording engineer for Album of the Year for Speakerboxxx/The Love Below by OutKast in 2004.
Moka and Ruka got together in late 2004 and worked on their first album (unsigned) Arigato Thank You. Their music reflects Japanese traditional, pop, R&B, hip-hop, and soul which they grew up listening to.
Moka is mostly behind the scene producing, recording, and mixing. Ruka is the writer of most of their songs and is also the lead singer of the duo. They put their creative minds and souls together in order to come up with their masterpieces.
This is just the beginning.
Please enjoy!!
