We get many inquiries from musicians who would like to get airplay on KBCS. We are always happy to review new music, even if you're not on a record label!
PLEASE familiarize yourself with our formats at www.kbcs.fm. SAVE A STAMP: We are an ALBUM-BASED station - no singles.
Specifically, we don't play Mainstream or College Rock, Smooth Jazz, or Top 40 Pop. However, if your music fits into one of our existing shows, we'd be happy to give it a listen.
We should mention that our DJs are all volunteers and they decide and guide their playlists, and our greatest delight is surprising them with something truly original. So if you have music you think we'd play, please send it along. We look forward to hearing it.
*Sorry, we cannot return unsolicited CDs!
Please send all music for review to the appropriate Music Director:

KBCS-FM is a listener supported, non-commercial, community radio station, operated as a public service of Bellevue Community College. Our purpose is to entertain, educate and involve a diverse community of listeners with a variety of music, cultural and public affairs programs.
KBCS 91.3 FM is the only non-commercial community radio station in the Seattle metro market. We are licensed to Bellevue Community College in Bellevue, Washington. KBCS began broadcasting in February 1973 as a 10 watt, student-run media training center.
We increased power to 1,000 watts in the late 1980s and expanded beyond the student body to become a full-time community radio station.
Other milestones followed: we increased power to 8,000 watts in 1990; we installed a new omnidirectional antenna in 2001; and we moved into new studios and offices in Factoria in June, 2002. Today, broadcasting from a house back on Bellevue Community College campus, the signal is heard as far east as Fall City in the Cascade foothills, as far south as Tacoma, as far west as Poulsbo on the Kitsap Peninsula and as far north as Everett.

Here's a video that was captured of me offering my bottleneck slide interpretation of an old blues song, Goin' T' Brownsville, on open mic night at Old Strokers in Everett, WA. It starts out with me briefly introducing my homemade "Nobro" resophonic guitar and explaining some of the various recycled garage sale junk that I used in it's construction. Enjoy!
