Introduced to the love and life of hip hop at the age of thirteen, Jeramy Henry, more commonly known in the game as Kid Banga—focused and ready, is more than just that, he is the epitome of hard work, persistence and truth. Although acknowledged as the ‘Kid” at heart on the block, who ‘bangs’ out his genius musicality, there is nothing childish about what it means to be KB in this world.
KB is a MC, beat producer and a business man. He began writing rhymes in his early adolescence and discovered an innate talent for creating music from the ground up. He uses his music as a means to motivate, inspire and elevate, rhyming on everything which he encounters, and brings the reality of truth to the forefront. Never one to try to ride on played out cliché’s, KB utilizes his influence of GOD to help him craft honest music to eventually reach his dreams through the only way he knows best—hard work. Musically, he is a mosaic of some of raps elite. The ruggedness of Xzibit, the holiness of Ma$e, the aggressive skill of Nas, and the lyrical prowess of Jadakiss, all combined to bring you a taste of what Kid-Banga is truly about.
He became involved in his first self-proclaimed hip hop crew “Illimitada” at the age of sixteen, where he was able to exercise his lyrical abilities, swagger and title, and used this as a learning experience to build a proper name and career for himself. Through his involvement with Illimitada, KB took every challenge he was faced with and turned it into motivation, turning any and everything into fuel towards a better future, bigger goals and a more focused MC.
The majority of Toronto Hip Hop MCs lack the aggression that KB emanates on a daily. He distinctly believes that there is no room for excuses and hesitation if you really want something in life. “The words ‘if, maybe, try, later’ don’t exist to me, I put my mind to something, and I get it done, simple.” This attitude is reflected in his music, through a tight work ethic and genuine talent. KB is superior to his downfalls and nay-sayers, and only uses those struggles to feed his hunger, and at the end of the day his tracks speak for themselves.
While so much music is often misguiding in its messages and proclamations, KB is careful with every word he crafts. He sees the influence first hand, and therefore he chooses his words wisely, helping to teach his younger sister how to avoid trouble and give her a positive influence, as well as his many fans. “Only you yourself and your beliefs are going to save you in this world” he says. KB has gained respect from his fans, credit from fellow MCs and producers, but most importantly on going knowledge and self-fulfilment from each obstacle he overcomes as a man in the industry and in the real world. He has risen the bar on all accounts, and puts today’s music into retrospect. .
