About me:
"ArtSounds and Music Sees!”
Visual art and music converge in new 2nd Tuesday collaboration.
Kansas City Art Institute
and
The UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance
Co-leaders Mara Gibson, Paul Rudy, Robert Weirich and Tedd Aguirre-Lagandre set the stage for concert events outside the box-inside the minds eye and the eyes ear. Vision informs hearing and hearing guides sight in an essential dialogue between visual and aural artists, performers and creators.
ArtSounds in a nutshell: ...there is no nutshell, no easy description, no textbook blog...it joins vision and sound at the messy intersection of human experience and attempts to communicate simultaneously about everything...and nothing in particular...in collaborative creativity through the individual voice of two. Conspirators from each place...vision and sound...produce provocative events that explore a maximum breadth of means, methods, media and music: art sounds and music sees!
Six ArtSounds events per year on 2nd Tuesdays will take place at 8 p.m. in Epperson Auditorium, Vanderslice Hall on the Kansas City Art Institute campus, 4415 Warwick Blvd. For a detailed map of KCAI, visit www.kcai.edu/campus. ArtSounds performances are free and open to the public.
