Kellyville was originally planned to be a simple fan-site designed by Alan for a young Kelly fan. Once it was near completion and people started to see it, idea's came in for things fans wanted to see on Kellyville. Alan then made a list of the idea's, and in one long work-session (actual time:36 hours straight, with no sleep), Kellyville was completely designed and operational with media, message boards, photo galleries, and most of what you see on it now. The official start date of Kellyville: September 10th, 2003.
As people started visiting Kellyville to check it out, more idea's came to us, and Kellyville became an endlessly updating and upgrading fan-site.
Most of our regulars are 'extreme' Kelly-fans, and because of that, Kellyville has since taken on a mission to try and spread Kelly's music to those who may not have heard it yet, to inform fans of appearances, performances, and what they may have missed. Most importantly, the support for Kelly and her career is enormous, and is constantly growing. There are members of our message boards who are casual fans as well (Kelly not being one of their favorite artists), and yet, unlike some fan-sites, they are accepted, never any debating, arguing, or bashing. One is even a moderator for our forums. One of the main rules of Kellyville is, accept people for who they are, help each other when ever possible, and ALWAYS be nice! It is how Kelly is to her fans, and her fan's should learn from her example.
Kellyville does have one small problem however...It costs money to keep it going. The servers for the website, media, and photo galleries are not free. in fact, as we grow, it costs more and more to upgrade them. We do accept donations to help, all donations go directly from you into an account that is used only for paying for Kellyville. Donations are also tax writeoffs for you.. The Kelly store is also a way to help, not only to keep Kellyville running, but Kelly herself by purchasing her cd's, dvd's, vhs, etc.
The Kelly store is a direct associate of Amazon.com, and prices are generally cheaper than most retail stores, and Kellyville gets commission from the purchases which goes into the same account as donations.
We don't have to keep Kellyville online, Just like Kelly doesn't have to give us great music and appearances to enjoy, but as long as she keeps going, we will do our best to keep Kellyville going. The staff here at Kellyville is in no way doing this for ourselves, believe me, there is other things we could be doing in our spare time, we do it for Kelly, and her fans!
To sum it all up, WE LOVE KELLY! and we're THANKFUL to have her!
In December, 2006, KCKellyville.com was a main contributor to a Much Music show, Born To Be, featuring Kelly Clarkson (Site listed in credits).
After driving up and down several lanes, I finally found a parking spot at the shopping mall. I noticed another man driving very slowly in the same direction, and, since he was closer, I gave him the "Are you going to park there?" look.
His responding gestures were very confusing. First he shook his head. Next he pointed at me, then at the parking space and then at himself, his watch and the mall. Finishing off, he frowned, raised his palms upward and shrugged. Once I parked, I walked over to the driver to make sure he didn't want the space.
"You must be single," he replied. "If you were married, you would've known that was the universal sign for 'Go ahead and take the spot. I'm waiting for my wife."
