MySpace a place for friends

KC Turner migrated from Columbia Missouri to the San Francisco Bay Area in Fall of 2005. His first name really is just 2 letters with no vowels. Not pronounced (ka-ch), just K-C. To combine his love for music and joy for being in control, it makes sense that he is the booker/organizer and host of many events. Really, though he is genuine, loves people and independent music/art/business.

Residing just North of San Francisco, the 26 year old is very busy bringing live music to the locals through billing shows, hosting house concerts, hosting an open mic, connecting people to new local talent and writing and strumming a few songs of his own!...Whew.

When he was a kid, his Grandfather got him listening to old Elvis Presley records in the basement…over and over and over. Perhaps inspired by his Grandpa’s love for good ol’ country and roots based music, KC starting performing in front of family members and friends. In hind sight, it’s embarrassing for him to talk about…trust me. Entering many talent shows and local festivals, KC would impersonate Elvis and get the young ladies screaming, he was 12 or so.

That doesn’t bring us up-to-date, but like the story of Jesus, there are some gaps… Ladidadida …Lets go over what exactly KC does with the Independent Music scene.

In addition to these booking responsibilities, KC is also in charge of ”KC Turner House Concert Series”!! House concerts are special because they are such an intimate live music experience. There really is nothing better than hearing good music unplugged in a living room. It is also a great way to meet new people and make friends.

KC has hosted dozens of house concerts over the past 3 years. A few of the headliners have included household names such as: Matt The Electrician, Tom Freund, Heather Combs, Greg Loiacono, Megan Slankard, Elliot Randall, John Craigie, Jerry Hannan, Danny Malone, Billy Harvey, Lindsay Mac, Lil Rev, Shawn Pander, Noah Earle and the list goes on.
