KD and JP – A Unique Sound for Unique Minds

JP moved from Houston, Texas to Winter Springs, Florida when he was a teenager. Fascinated with music, JP recorded his own music over a computer microphone and a compact disc player. While JP attended Winter Springs High School he met KD, a classmate in one of his freshman classes, which coincidentally made instrumental beats. KD asked to hear some of JP's songs from the demos JP had previously recorded. Noticing much talent in JP's music, KD insisted that he would make beats for JP. Once the two began collaborating they decided that they would make creating music a group effort.

From beats to lyrics, lyrics to mastering productions, all work is done by KD and JP. The two worked on composing their first album which was titled The Introduction in 2005. Sales of the album allowed for them to invest in a professional home studio. Months after The Introduction was released and the home studio was completed, KD and JP began working on their second album. KD and JP’s second release, The Southern Takeover, blew up locally in 2006 proving that people have an interest for KD and JP’s unique style of music. In late 2007 KD and JP were one of four nominees to open up for Orlando’s Power 95.3 F.M. Calle Orange Festival, which featured Hurricane Chris, Pitbull, Flo-Rida, Treal, Mr. Vegas, Zion, and several other well known artist in the music industry.

It is now 2008 and KD & JP are continuing to make music with the inimitable sound it is known for. R&B singer Michael Stokes has worked with the duo and says “I love working with these guys because working with them I know we will produce something no one has heard of before.” A&R Tone Capone from Universal Motown says “KD and JPs Music is refreshing. They give hip-hop hope for making a comeback. These two will be known for their distinctive sound.”

KD and JP continue to reach out and perform at local venues around the University of Central Florida area such as Pounders, Knightly Scoop, Knight Library, Devaneys, Los Portales, Liquid Cellar, and Hip-Hop Saloon. Downtown Orlando is not missed by them either as they have made appearances at Club Dolce, and AKA Lounge. The two are creating a buzz around the state that has people asking for more. At a seminar held by 4th Quarter Entertainment, A&R Conrad Dimanche from Bad Boy requested for KD and JP to get him as many tracks as they could as soon as possible. KD and JP have started a wave of music that has DJ’s not just nationally but worldwide interested. If you doubt that, do yourself a favor and Google “KD and JP Mystery Love”

Recently KD and JP have asked Julio Espaillat for his management. Julio is a Pre-Law Entertainment student and friend. Having a full time job and a full time college schedule has proven difficult for anyone to carry out the tasks one needs to achieve in order to become successful in the music industry. “Julio makes our job as musicians easier by reminding us of important dates and meetings we must attend. He makes collaborating with other musicians attainable. He keeps us in line with our finances and makes sure we are not over budget when spending money. Julio makes sure that the productions we create are copyrighted and any music distributed is distributed rightfully and legally.” Simply put Julio Espaillat watches KD and JP’s backs while offering a third hand..”
