About me:
I was out of work a few months ago and decided to respond to a "Help Wanted" advertisement from a nonprofit organization called "KEEP AMERICA BEAUTIFUL" (KAB) for an "Environmental Superhero." OK, I thought it was a joke...or a clever way to lure me in to door-to-door encyclopedia sales.

Turns out, they were serious. OK, so I may have exaggerated a bit in the interview and told the President that I could lift cars and fly. You never know what you're capable of until you try. That's my motto. Well, it's one of my mottoes anyway.

Next thing you know, I'm wearing a cape and tights and sent off to promote recycling, encourage tree planting, and to publicly humiliate people who litter (slobs!).

So...did I mention that I have no superhero experience? I really need your help. KAB really needs your help. I can't do this by myself...

Who I'd like to meet:
People who care about the environment

People who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty by cleaning up rivers, creating parks, and planting trees

People who can help spread the message of the power of beauty to transform our lives and strengthen our communities

Ed Begley, Jr.

People who recognize that their daily choices as consumers and citizens can make a real difference in the world

Thanks for joining Team Walden!

"Walden: The Ballad of Thoreau" is an educational performance play about the final two days Henry David Thoreau spent in his cabin before leaving Walden Pond. On EARTH DAY 2007 over 4,000 colleges, schools, home schools and community theaters in nine nations performed the play in celebration of Thoreau, his writings about nature, and our earth.

The Walden Play, lesson plans, posters, directors notes and more are made available to schools FREE OF CHARGE. The new updated 2008 Walden project is being presented again for Earth Day 2008 in cooperation with the Earth Day Network, American Forests, Mother Earth News, and EarthCARE Canada.

This is an amazing all-volunteer effort to reintroduce Thoreau's passion for the earth in a time of global warming and oil wars. The sole source of underwriting for this effort comes from the sale of the new "WALDEN: The Earth Song Collection" album.

You can help! Here's how:

o Become TEAM WALDEN'S friend and add it to your list of top friends!
o Help get the word out! Forward this message on to your friends. Send out bulletins. Contact local educators about presenting the play for free.
o Add one of the Walden songs or play clips to your MySpace player for free.
o Invite your community to join TEAM WALDEN as explained on our website.

We are hoping that this MySpace page will bring together Earth-friendly, eco-conscious minds to discuss and learn more about the writings of Thoreau and other environmental topics through the use of the play and album.

Please email me if you have any questions.

Thank you!

First a Green Book for Kids. Now Becoming a Green Musical!

“The Kingdom Of Clean” Is Now Being Made Into A Musical For Kids! The song posted on our MySpace- “A Pain In The Drain”- is from the Musical. Dave & Co. are already doing parts of it in a school assembly for kids. Kids have been LOVING it- cheering, singing along! (Don’t worry about the vocals - Dave knows he can’t sing. Real singers will be doing the songs in the Musical.)

If you haven’t gotten a copy of the book
you can get the details at our main website.
(Just click on the banner below.)

And remember, kids who learn to be clean, not litter and recycle- might just grow up to become adults who don’t pollute and instead reduce, reuse and recycle!
