Just 4 guys trying to do their share of making Brussels a lil' more soulful & funky. After meeting each other continuously diggin' up vinyl in Brussels, we noticed we loved the same sort of music. This being anything soulful and funky that shakes the booty, ancient to future.
After some drinks we came to the conclusion that joining forces to organise a party would lead to a result little less than the greatest party all men and surely women with good taste ever experienced. Certainly if they live in Brussels. After all we buy the best records long before any other cats can and that's what, to us, is lacking at 99% of all other parties: good music.
Sobered up but still full of ambition we started making our dreams reality. First we organised some parties at the Osmo Club which gathered a nice crowd who lost lots of sweat on the dancefloor. Our plans seemed to work but not all things were as we wished. Among some other problems, the sound was crap. So we moved. We relocated to the Dali's club where things were a lot better. Maybe it's still not entirely perfect but were working on that. We should, for example, do something about the lack of promotion 'cause us playing good music is what gets people hooked on our parties but it doesn't really invite those who don't know about us.
That's why we started this myspace account. As a little step in our quest to get known better. And to give the ones already hooked an opportunity to check what and when we are doing something.
In the future we plan more parties, maybe more frequently. Meanwhile, more drinks while diggin crates has led to more wild plans that we are silently developing. More about that in the near future.

Hi to you all Hammond funk lovers. Just drop a line to let you know that the new version of the Soul Cookers website is now on line. It is brand new and it merges Soul Cookers Rec, Funk Food Family ( album reviews ) and Saint Paul Soul Jazz. These 2 last sections are not active yet but I'm in charge of it and I'm going to spend a lot of time downloading the old reviews and all the new ones I have in stock.
