The debut record 'Tort' is available now. It is a concept record. Split into twelve segments of day & night. it traces the moods of a day through the aural, the visual and the written word. Highlights the always omnipresent feeling of meaninglessness of modern life. What happens to those that deviate?
A whole spectrum of the emoting emanates from the mood of the compositions. Meanings I felt needed to be attached as electronic and instrumental music at times cannot harbor any meanings, it can be quite cold, impersonal and a tad alien. However, giving the compositions a base of existence in real life through poetry and other literary forms can breed an interesting way of creating an ensemble, package, a record.
An ensemble that proves art imitates life, the aural surrounds each one of us in our daily lives which we cannot escape. Our environment has great effect on our personalities, moods, emotions, relationships, expectations, attitude, views, beliefs and culture. I feel I have captured on this record a day to day existence in a city through the soundscapes, literature and hitting with the 'point blank', pieces of art and design.
The second record has been completed it is aptly titled 'Phantasmagoria' it is inspired by a series of dream sequences. The crux of the record was completed in 5 weeks as everything just happened extremely quickly unlike the first record which stretched on forever rife with indecision and frustration mostly.
It will be available early 2010.
