"Waves is the sort of album that continually reminds me with each track as to why I fell in love with this sort of music in the first place."

“A few weeks ago, Keith Canisius stealthily released what will go down as one of the best records of 2008, the resplendent Ferris Wheel Makeout. Not many people have ever heard of Canisius, but those who have are more likely to know him as one half of Danish dream-pop act Rumskib. With his solo debut, Canisius takes Rumskib’s atmospheric tendencies in a more traditional shoegaze vein. The result is a record as gorgeous as it is timeless.” THE DONNYBROOK WRITING ACADEMY
Thanks for req. After testing all 10 tracks, i can only express this spacy fusion of western and asian tradition with some kind of "poem":
"I wake up one morning - outside the window there was a lot of fog. When i looked closer at it - every little drop was a clear clear crystal - more transparent than the space between the drops".
In other words - this ability to mix everything - while keeping it crystal-clear is remarkable - i have not heard it better on MySpace - not even at the same level.
At a level at high as this, it is not possible to separate content of music from production-quality. When Cocteau Twins amazed the world back in 80'ths it was not just new chords - it was close related to a higher production quality of the sound (specially guitar) than ever heard before.
Maybe something like that is happening right now - right here !
(The opium-thing contains a strange kind of energy not found in the other tracks).
