Growing up surrounded by music it's no wonder Keith Harkin became the talented natural musician he is today.
Years of playing live had already honed him into a solid live act at the tender age of 18. His own sound is both individual and unique - taking influences from artists as diverse as Led Zeppelin, John Martyn, Glenn Campbell and Jack Johnson and Paul Brady.
He recently supported both John Martyn and David Kitt on their Irish tours - wowing these two demanding and very different crowds with his fresh sound.
In his short time as a full-time musician Keith has packed in a lot. During his time in London 2005 - recording with a well respected producer - he also played in various venues and festivals in England - including a memorable show at the Tavistock Festival on Portobello Road.
2006 brought keith to "Dha theanga" an irish program on bbc where he played the lead role, rewrote and arranged all the music for the show.
And now to date he is currently doing the monster hit show Celtic Thunder with a coast to coast tours of the states and Canada regularly. The show now has had 2 number 1 selling DVD's and 3 number 1 selling albums on the world BILLBOARD CHARTS.
With his energetic stage presence and charismatic performances Keith's live shows are what live music is all about.
Keith has been compared to everyone from Jamiroquai to Paul Brady and Maroon 5. BBC radio Ulster called him the 'Irish Jack Johnson'.
Listen with open ears and make up your own mind. Keith is currently working on a his first Debut album with the world best writers and producers to create "his best yet," so stay tuned!

Happy, happy travels! I almost snagged a super prezzie for you...The neighbor's dog, whom I've "rescued" several times, got out and came to visit. My husband was outside putting up lights, and turned around to see the most ginormous Malmute on the planet! He looks like a giant wolf. Said husband nearly had a heart attack. I quickly went to the rescue, explaining "his name is Thor, and he's a cupcake". I finally got him back home, once again safe and sound. Now, his "people" whom my French neighbor labelled "the terroristes", are not nice people. They do not take care of their beautiful dog, so I thought....Why not dognap him, buy him a ticket on Aer Lingus, and ship him to Keith? Husband threatened to commit me, so alas, no dog for you. I'd probably end up in prison, and your family would probably disown you. Sorry....It was just a thought...Cheers! Sorry to ramble. Did I mention I'm on cold meds?
Well, it won't be as warm as Hawaii, but it shouldn't be as cold as Chicago either! Hope you had a great time in the USA, both on tour and on vacation. I'm sure it will be great to be home again and see your friends and family. Have a safe flight!
safe travels keith! hope you had a great time here in the US! good to hear you're soon to be home sweet home. lol i'm sure your family and friends miss you over there. aye ACCOMPLISHED indeed...fair play to ya!
Hi Keith, Wishing you a safe flight home... lots of hugs awaiting you, yes?! :-) Feel free to take some snow with you as Johnny would like to go sledding. ;D Take good care. Much love...
Welcome Keith..we have a saying in Chicago "If you don't like the weather..wait five minutes and it will change"!! You should have been here yesterday..with the wind it felt like -20..that's cold!1 This is like a heat wave..I'm even sitting here in shorts!
By the way it's Damains' fault..we had 50 degree weather until he twittered he hoped for snow in Chicago!! Boy has he finally gotten you back for that dunk!! LMAO Well, I hope you enjoy your stay..as short as it will be.
Was so happy to read your tweet that tomorrow you will be on your way back home again! It made me smile after a long, stressful day! I just know your dear, sweet family has been a missin ya all these months! I can only imagine the wonderful welcome you shall receive when you walk thru that door! Our families aren't the people we pick to be with like our friends but they sure are the most treasured part of our lives -- that's for sure! Please pass on my holiday wishes to your family, and I pray that the impending new year will be all that each of you hopes it to be and more! I'm a little late getting my Christmas cards out this year, but hope to get you and the other fellas one in the mail very soon! I'll stop back by again, of course, before the holidays are upon us but you can NEVER send enough good wishes to the special people who pass in and out of your life from time to time! Keep Smiling, big guy! When you smile, it makes me smile! Hugs -- Mary
What a difference a day makes huh? Yesterday enjoying the sand & sun & surf in Hawaii, and today ENJOYING the cold & wind & snow here in Chicago! Which do you prefer? No need to really answer that one!
But Chicago IS pretty at Christmastime-so I hope you get a chance to take some of the lights & decorations in! There is a Kriskinglemart down there that is pretty fun-it has German candy & ornaments & food & most important German BEER! We go down there every year! Just an idea if you are bored! Oh & take a horse-drawn buggy ride down Michigan Avenue. That is always fun!
OK-here is the Thought for the day..... ********************************************************* The joy of Christmas is brightening others lives. ********************************************************* You guys will be doing that tomorrow night-I can't wait to see the show!
Take Care! Have fun--and watch out for Damian throwing snowballs-he just might be planning his revenge (you know-the lake incident.....) B.
