I remember as a boy listening to my Mom and Dad's LP records. Their favorites became my favorites being The Blackwood Brothers, The Statesman Quartet, George Beverly Shae, Johnny Cash and ultimate favorite Marty Robbins. I like to think you can hear at least a little of each of them in my music.

I am so excited about the release of my CD Same Train, on January 9, as it has afforded me the opportunity of returning to the Country and Gospel roots of my past. I sang my first solo in church at the age of 13 and will never forget the feeling of people being touched from hearing my music. Even before graduating from high school I began studying voice and music theory with the goal of singing classical music. I quickly discovered neither college life nor classical music were going to be part of my future and left my pursuit of a musical career with no intention of ever returning.
Many years have past since that first church solo, and I never thought God had any plan for me to work for Him through music only to discover He still has plans for me.
Many people want to know who I sound like? I guess I really don’t think about it, but I don know who my favorite artists were as a boy. I remember listening for hours to Elvis and the Country legends Marty Robbins and Johnny Cash. I am sure my music has been influenced by those talented artist.

”The gift of listening: Try giving this to someone in need. And you must really listen. No interrupting, no daydreaming, no planning your responses. Just listen.
The gift of signs of affection: Be generous with your hugs, kisses and gentle squeezes of the hand. Let these tiny actions demonstrate the love inside of you.
The gift of a note: It can be as simple as "I Love You" or as creative as a sonnet. Put your notes where they will surprise your loved one.
The gift of laughter: Just cut out a cartoon, save a clever article. Your gift will say, "I love to laugh with you."
The gift of compliment: A simple "You look good in blue" or "Good supper" can be of greatest value to those who may feel they are being taken for granted.
The gift of a favor: Help with the dishes, run an errand, etc..... do it willingly.
The gift of leaving alone: There are times in our lives when we want nothing better than to be left alone. Become more sensitive to those times and give solitude.
The gift of a cheerful disposition: Try to be cheerful around those you love.
The gift of a game: Offer to play your loved one's favorite game. Even if you lose, you'll be a winner.
The gift of prayer: Pray for your loved ones and let them know you pray for them.
" WORD FOR TODAY ( SEEKING GOD'S WILL ) PSALM 1:1-3 NIV " BLESSED IS THE MAN WHO DOES NOT WALK IN THE COUNSEL OF THE WICKED OR STAND IN THE WAY OF SINNERS OR SIT IN THE SEAT OF MOCKERS. BUT HIS DELIGHT IS IN THE LAW OF THE LORD , AND ON HIS LAW HE MEDITATES DAY AND NIGHT. HE IS LIKE A TREE PLANTED BY STREAMS OF WATER , WHICH YIELDS ITS FRUIT IN SEASON AND WHOSE LEAF DOES NOT WITHER. WHATEVER HE DOES PROSPERS.
