Peter Gabriel, Nine Inch Nails, Danny Elfman, guitar gods (see below), Soozie, Apple Logic Studio, Trader Joes, House of Prime Rib (SF), Netflix, cows that wear slippers, all the ladies I've ever loved.
Sounds Like
Peter Gabriel, Nine Inch Nails, Danny Elfman, Kiss, Rush, Journey, Duran Duran, AR Rahman, John Williams and anyone else I feel like ripping off in a given week.
Someone told me I should put my stuff on here so I could get the word out on my tunes. Or be laughed at, like when I tripped & fell on my butt in the middle of campus before English class in 11th grade and this dude laughed as loud as he could, which attracted even MORE attention I wasn't seeking. Not that I dwell on it or anything. Er...let's try this again. I'm a composer who generally sounds like Peter Gabriel in a three-way crash with Duran Duran and Nine Inch Nails, though sometimes my wannabe Satriani/Vai tendencies get out of control. I make music, I make movies, I even make a cool chili. I also have a product line of shirts and posters aimed at guitar players seeking new ideas fast and quick while looking cool at the same time.
What the hell am I gonna do!?! NAMM is this week, and since I'm A. not in Anaheim, and B. not filthy rich OR patient this just means it'll be a tough few months. Two words - MARK V. Allegedly going to have switchable modes of either Mak IV or Mark IIC+ sounds, and I don't know if you were a Boogie-phile in the 80s, but if the latter is true then it's well worth the 2 grand.
I like the new shirt, and that you're sticking to that slogan! I am writing to tell you that for once I am in the pickle of maybe getting rid of some gear...FOR MORE GEAR! Found a Pre-100 Dual Rectifier, I know you haven't been a Mesa guy for awhile but I hope you know how sought-after these amps are!
heyy keith i dig the new song i'm still learning! i saw u had a new song posted on my alerts and i even paused journey - anyway you want it to listen! got a cool groove to it
I loved your blog on why my guitar solos suck. Also the Ben & Jerry's one. But on the subject of solos: I'm trying to finally become the noodler nerd and practice everything. I've got a mag with Steve Vai's 10-hour workout. It's got all the modes in 3rds, 5ths, etc. But through all this I still am intimidated and at a complete block for making original music!
haha thanks keith! my birthdays actually not til saturday, but im glad it came up on your alerts. its nice to hear from you, i hope everything is going well.
Thank you sir! it was a good one. I'm hungover today. aughhhh.... and for your students who don't know what that means... it means when adults are silly and drink too much! lol
A shirt with chords on it very nice!! Keith, I've come to the realization even more so that I belong in the 80's. I've started practicing a lot of classical type of arpeggios n whatnot and am really eager to brush off the millions of pages i have from our past. I'm now in love with Vinnie Moore, Zakk Wylde, and Slash's cat in the hat lesson of january this year from guitar one. check it out, its some indian type scale he said, i mean he doesn't know of course but its really cool.
