Each member brings a different style to the group that ultimately translate into the sound of what you wanna hear.
Born Keithon Flemming, the Dallas, Texas native began rappin late in his life. It wasn't until one day in the hall ways of his high school that there was a group of kids freestylin durin their lunch period and he went over to see what was goin on. Not knowin that he could really rap, he jus hopped into the flow of things and began spittin punchlines and jus usin his imagination while he was freestylin and the crowd was lovin it! In that circle, there was a group that was trying to get their label started and was lookin for artists to have an official group, in which, they would call themselves CIP. Brenton Trammel, Lil B, was the CEO of the group and wanted him to start right away. The group, Lil B, J-Ray, JG, and J-Ford began working on their first album together entitled "Playa Made," and it was the Boss first time to record. At that point in his career, he focused on wowin the crowd with his punchlines and instillin Young Jeezy type ad-libs. Soon realizin that wasn't his style, he swtiched it up and began perfectin his craft as a versatile artist that can adjust to any situation and any song. Some people say that in some of his songs, his sounds like Paul Wall and when asked about it he responded, "Man, that's a pretty big name to say when speakin my name because Paul Wall is one of the Texas Hard Hitters and for people to say my voice sounds similar to his sometimes, it must mean that I am doing something right!" In one song that he recorded, he even mentions, "some people say that Im similar to Paul Wall/ hmm.. mouth look like a disco ball..." insinuatin that not only did he sound similar but he grill was similar as well. After, finishing up his first album, he was also working on his career in football; signing a letter of intent to play for the West Texas A&M University, where he resides today.
He entered West Texas A&M University in the summer of 2006 and was focusing solely on football and was ready to give up rap. Football being his first love and somethin that he wants to do when he graduates, he was thinking about hangin up the mic. It wasn't until the some controversy during the fall semester of 2006, that he decided to pick the mic back up, dust it off, and begin spittin. He recorded a song called "F*** N****s, and it became very popular around campus and it had all of his teammates and friends talkin. Now, not only was the campus buzzin because of his talent on the field but also buzzin because people found out he could rap. He would be asked everyday when he was goin to record another song and if he planned on doin an album or mixtape. At first, he said that the song was just to release some anger and he used recordin as a way to keep his temper in check but if people was anticipatin an album and/or mixtape then why not. That semester he began workin on a mixtape called, "Facin Adversity, Still Shinin" in which, he began givin the cd's away for free. He said, "This mixtape isn't about money, it is about exposure and it's what my friends asked for. So I gave them what they wanted!" The mixtape was popular around his dorms and in the inner city but if was goin to really get to where he needed to go, he was goin to have to expand and get to know people. In the summer of 2007, he met a guy by the named of "K3" or "K-Tre," who was also into rappin. K3 had heard that the Boss could rap and the two got together and listened to K3's previous songs recorded and the Boss liked what he had heard. K3 has several bangin tracks but the ones that stuck out to the Boss was his, "Walk With Me" and "Shake Like Dice" tracks. K3 asked the Boss if he wanted to do a verse in the remix of "Shake Like Dice" and the Boss could not refuse! K3 then introduced the Boss to a local DJ by the name of DJ Frank-Dux and they did the song. "Man, when I walked into Frankie's house the first thing he says to me is; ay Boss the house rule is that newcomers have to freestyle for me before they record." He did the freestyle and recorded the remix to "Shake Like Dice Remix," which is, goin to be released on DJ Frank-Dux mixtape and from that point on, the three of them became close friends. They are currently working on projects for K3 and the Boss. The Boss is currently workin on his mixtape, "Remix Da Industry," which will be solely industry beats with a few songs from his upcomin album entitled, "Reality Check: I Checks Reality." Then there is the "Texafornia" mixtape that is in progress and it is a group effort from The Boss and K3. The Boss is a hungry, up and comin artist, and once heard will change the game of hip hop. His future looks to be bright with football and with rap, so be on the lookout for projects comin soon.
