Bio
The Big Soul Ensemble is a lot of band with a lot of soul. With more than a dozen of the Capital Regions finest musicians, the B.S.E. is a traditional big band with a twist or two. Most big bands traditionally look to the past for their material while the B.S.E. pays homage to the past while playing material specifically written for the band by members of the ensemble. The emphasis is to have a hard swingin’ big band with the freedom of a jazz quartet. In the tradition of the Vanguard Orchestra, the B.S.E. will set up residence in a local music hot spot (The Lark Tavern in Albany) the first Tuesday of every month. NO COVER -
