Since the age of 15, Keith has been composing on his axe due to his discovery of funk/rock pioneers ...namely Jimi Hendrix, Santana, Prince & Funkadelic... but his dad's jazz fusion albums is what sent him into the jazz genre. By him discovering that there is freedom in contemporary, jazz is what blessed him. Jazz is a story teller just like the afrocentric music of his ancestors...he ran away with it naturally & spiritually .
Magi Records recording artist Keith Williams a.k.a.. Acidjaz has had
International success the past year with his lastest project Soulful Ocean.
In Campaloon, Canada placed on two top10 charts, .. 4 for Top 10 Jazz cd
and .. 7 on the top 10 electronic cd chart. This jazz guitarist/multi-
instrumentalist has recently teamed up with various neo-soul vocalist
for the soulful cuts & various remixes. These selections will be
featured on the upcoming project ''The Calling''.
Keith has been a best kept secret in Atlanta for years, but known in
Connetticut as a Joe Kelley show favorite (The first radio station advertisted on Prince's website). His cut The After Party' is also on the airwaves of
Mississippi, France, Australia and Japan. His sound has been compared to
Santana, Hendrix to Portishead and Ronny Jordan . His blends of trip hop/jazz & world beat has made him an eclectic meister scaling from the under-ground to the surface.
His single ''Free Indeed'' from the ''Keep on Ya'll '' gospel jazz project has appeared
in The Gospel Truth Magazine + compilation CD for 3 month, including his tracks used for various radio commercials. 2001 was a good year for this indie artist.
On this 2005 project you can even hear sounds of all his mentors from wax: from the
mysterious Brazilian Samba type arrangements + Lee Rit. type vibing nylon string guitar on K. funk, Funkadelica/Prince type bop on Sex Is Weapon and Hendrix inside the matrix type stuff on Reloaded . Also must not forget the cut Nostalgia (a weather report) a groove Wayne Shorter & Jaco would have bought for Weather Report back in the fusion days.
This cd is already getting Radio appreciation nationally and internationally
