Modern Bluegrass with a mix of the classic style of Bluegrass and good ol' American Country
Born and raised in Southwestern Virginia... in the heart of Bluegrass country..., Kelley Nelson has had a longing to sing and perform all her life, even as a young child. She started singing at the age of eight in her church choir and carried that love for music throughout her teenage years by performing in her high school choir for four years. She grew up listening to the sounds of Traditional Country music and was also introduced to Bluegrass at a young age by her grandfather, who often took her to see performances at The Carter Family Fold in Hiltons, Virginia on Saturday nights. Kelley began pursuing her desire to sing and perform professionally in 2005 and has since performed in many regional venues. She is currently in the studio working on her debut album, set to be released in January 2010. Kelley discovered another musical passion in 2006 when she tried her hand at songwriting and she will be including five of her original tunes on her upcoming album.
