The Kelley's Cause Battle Of The Bands event is a fundraiser to bring in money for Kelley Goddu's IMT rehab costs. The program costs approximately $150,000 with none of it paid for by insurance. It is all out of pocket expenses for the family. By involving the community in many different aspects of the event, it should prove to be a success in many ways and help the entire Goddu family greatly.
The Battle of the Bands will run like this :
- Bands must be present at the Mandatory Band meeting with myself & Joey at 4:30pm
- All bands will be scored on a scale of 1-5, 1 being the lowest, 5 being the highest
- Judges will base their scores on music, creativity, audience involvement, band talent, and overall impression
- Bands will have 5 minutes in the first round, 6 minutes in the second round and 8 minutes in the third round
- Bands are required to play original music for the first and third rounds, with the second being an “open” round. Should they like to play another band or artists song, they will not be audio or visual recorded due to licensing requirements.
- Round Three is dedicated to the audience approval judging method. At the end of the round, the MC will have all three bands up onstage and go through each one to hear “audience approval”. The scorekeeper will base the winners on this method. In an event of a tie, judges will be required to score the bands on the 1-5 method.
Tickets will be sold for $5 for children under 12, 12 & older for $10, Children under 3 and infants have free admission.
