"The type of music that you're writing and playing, there could be 100 people in the studio but I'd still feel as though the songs were for me, and me alone". Kev Hutchings, BBC Radio Devon, Jan 2009
"Music is the one thing that can encapsulate all the emotion you experience in life, even when it doesn't contain any words. It's the most powerful expression of humanity there is." Such is Kellie Cox's philosophy, and this is reflected in her writing across the board, from the melancholy of "Beautiful Girl" to the near psychotic strains of "Compulsive Disorder". People are her inspiration. "Others are way better than I am at writing about serious issues like politics and world peace, so my focus is on smaller worlds, the significance of one person's interaction with another, however that might manifest itself. Because ultimately, the human race – certainly within the western world – is a self-centred monster that refuses to see outside of itself to the issues that really matter".
Kellie's debut, Pathos and Exaltation, has been describe as "stunning" and Part 1 was released in September 2007. Available now from Kellie's shop.
2009 NEWS: Kellie is working on a new project which she hopes to unveil later this year. She describes it as "a step into new territory, and one which has been a long time coming". Perfect Peace is really interesting, maybe even great. Ambitious concept this just sitting at the piano. And the "I Wait" thing, that would have made a great Fleetwood Mac song. Chrissy McVie. Perhaps that's what you should do. Find a big tall drummer with crazy eyes and start a band.

my past and my shame... that beautiful car. I haven't driven it in 7 years. I have a young man who comes around every few months and "treats" my cool old cars. But it has come to a head and I need to get rid... It's just too expensive to pretend I am a big shot at this point.
Saw your status. 1986 I was recording in Times Square NYC for a Virgin recording artist in Madonna's studio and I had a Stratocaster made for me back home in the UK around May time. It was a great year. Slippery When Wet was a great track.I remember "Money for Nothing" playing a lot on MTV. Thanks for the memories! Ma x
"My dear friend, the inspiration you send, I will surely hold in my tight clenched fist. When I reach out for my acoustic it will be set free to embrace in harmony with my songs, and once again I shall be able to write from the heart"......"Perfect Peace" Great song x
Hi Kellie, Thanks for the approval. As I commented in the friend request... within the first few bars of 'Perfect Peace' - I become a blubbering mess :) What a WONDERFUL song that is. Wonderful. An honour to be a myspace friend. Take care Chris
Hi Kellie, it's not that I'm quick off the mark so much as in the right place at the right time. I wasn't the first to listen to "Perfect Peace", just the first to comment.
I've already been back a few times to give it another listen & I was right: it is a great piece.
