.. .. Kellin Watson is a nationally-touring singer-songwriter, whose award-winning sound blends elements of blues, pop, folk, and soul. Hailing from Asheville, NC, Kellin draws on her Appalachian roots to bring both power and rawness to her music. Growing up in a musical family influenced and inspired Kellin to begin writing, singing and performing her own songs. By the 13, Kellin was composing and performing her original songs for open mic's and church services, and by age 16, she had recorded her first 6 song EP of original material entitled, Little Things (1998). It was then, that Kellin got her first taste of recording in a studio. She's since gone on to release 4 full length solo albums independently. Her first full length debut solo album, Paper Bird, was released in December 2003, at 22. After touring the east coast, Kellin recorded her second album with her band in 2005, Kellin Watson Band LIVE, Red Flag. Proving to be a fan favorite, Kellin decided to head back into the studio in 2007, to collaborate and work with Asheville producer, Aaron Price. Her third album, No Static was recorded at Echo Mountain Studio in Asheville NC, and came with a powerful punch. The album received world-wide acclaim, with two songs being featured on Canadian teen drama, Degrassi the next generation, another being featured on the CMT show, Big Break with Sara Evans, and an honorable mention nod from Billboard Magazine's, top 100 pop songs written for 2007. The album also featured a song written by Grammy Award winning Gordie Sampson, Your Place In this World, as well as a few guest appearances from members of Afromotive, Sugarhill recording artists The Duhks, local Asheville singersongwriter Tyler Ramsey (Band Of Horses), and many others. While recording, No Static, Kellin was featured on Asheville's, Studio South, (www.studiosouth.tv) a pilot shot by Anthony Haney-Jardine (aka: Chusey), & Villasonica's Meg Lauzon. In 2009, after splitting a bill with Michael Bellar/As-Is Ensemble, in Black Mountain NC, Kellin decided to collaborate and begin working on her 4th album, Halo Of Blue co-producing it with Michael Bellar. Recording In parts of NY, NJ, CT, and Asheville NC, guest performers included Oliver Wood (The Wood Brothers), Sarah and Christian Dugas (The Duhks, Zach Brown Band), Matt Smith (Shannon Whitworth,The Honeycutters) and many others. Songs that were featured in film and tv include, Angels Keep Watching Over Me, and Give Up The Ghost. Angels Keep Watching over me was featured on the Gospel Music Channel's, Trinity Goodheart, in which Kellin also played the supporting role of Kim Hawthorne. While Give Up the Ghost was featured on CBS's 'The Good Wife' in December of 2011. Kellin is touring this summer to continue promoting her album.
