I am a professional dancer as well as model and was a Dance Educator for 10 years. I love all forms of dance; ballet, tap, jazz, modern, hip hop, contemporary, and the list just keeps going! I will always be a dancer:)
I AM A DANCER
What a wonderful thing to be. To leap and soar across a stage, a body breaking free from natural forces that draw us to the earth. To express, in one perfect move, a truth that words can not convey. To lift an audience’s spirit and let them know how grand it is to be alive. All this achieved by simply stepping one foot in front of the other onto a stage. All this is done by searching within one’s self and bringing out what you find inside. For from the relentless pursuit of dreams our souls mission is achieved, and for a dancer, it is achieved so greatly.
Music
I of course love rock music. I also listen to many different styles and types of music as well as rock. Being a professional dancer really opens you up to appreciate many different types of music and many different types of art. I respect all artists for creating something and being who they are.
..
Movies
I'm a sucker for old 80's movies such as Gremlins, Back to the Future, and Ghost is the best movie of all time! Anything dance related holds a special spot in my favorites as well such as Center
Stage, You Got Served, White Nights, and both Step Up movies.
Television
I currently am watching Grey's Anatomy,Private Practice, South Park, Britain's Got Talent, and The Cougar. I will always love the show So You Think You Can Dance and was a huge fan of this past seasons America's Got Talent and Rock of Love Bus! Can't stand Taya and Bret, you totally made the wrong choice: sorry!
Books
I am currently reading Twilight. After seeing the movie I just have to read the book!
Heroes
My Grandfather will forever be the greatest man to ever exist in my eyes and my hero. He was my father and role model. He is the reason I am the person I am today.

Hello everyone! I'm Kelly Marie of Chicago and the former 2008 Loop Rock Girl.
Many of you got the chance to meet me during my reign as the LRG, but in case you didn't let me kick start your heart by telling you a little about me.
I was born in St. Charles and grew up in the beautiful Chicago suburb of Batavia. At the age of seven I decided my dream was to be on Broadway. I was enrolled in tap dance lessons which exploded into a large passion for dance in all its forms. I started studying ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, and anything that encouraged me to express myself to music.
My love of music wasn’t just limited to dance. I also had my dad’s influence: rock n’roll!!!! And rock means just one thing in Chicago, The Loop! At 5 years old, I remember playing his Guns N’ Roses cassette in my boom box while my grandmother questioned his parenting skills.
As a teen I was a good and very busy student. I was a cheerleader, member of two dance companies, director of the dance department at my local park district, modeled, and still managed to find time to take classes myself and be an honor roll student! I learned at a young age that accomplishing what you want in life takes hard work and dedication and that you can achieve anything you put your mind to.
After high school I was anxious to start my dance career. It took me many places including studying under amazing dance masters at Oklahoma City University, dancing in a Vegas review, the finals for the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleading Squad, dancing on WGN’s morning news, appearing on Season 3 of the show “So You Think You Can Dance”, and dancing on Telemundo International Spanish Television. I even was asked to portray the Disney princess Belle at Disney World, but I couldn’t bring myself to leave the Windy City for too long. This is my home and I always seem to make it back!
Because working as a professional dancer almost never makes you a millionaire, while I pursued that dream I also became a dance teacher to help pay the bills. Little did I know that teaching would become the most rewarding experience of my life thus far. Watching students grow year after year into accomplished dancers was extraordinarily special. Each student taught me something new and I gained new perspective on dance as I experienced it with them. I miss you girls! You all hold a very special place in my heart.
Dancing and performing were my gateway into the entertainment business. Although I modeled and competed in a few pageants as a youngster, I started professionally modeling in 2002 to earn a little extra money. It wasn’t until I was living in Los Angeles the summer of 2007 that I realized I wanted to pursue modeling more seriously and take a break from a full time dance career. Definitely in need of Midwest hospitality after a summer in LA, I returned to Chicago that September with the goal to pursue my modeling career. Shortly after, I was chosen as a spokesmodel for LA Tan and was appearing on billboards around Chicago.
Besides dancing and jamming out to my favorite rock tunes I enjoy hanging with friends and going out to bars in clubs in the area. I’m crazy for rock shows and have a thing for catching drum sticks and snagging guitar picks. I have quite the collection! Now that my reign as the Loop Rock Girl is over I still plan on attending as many rocking concerts as possible!
As the Loop Rock Girl you all gave me the opportunity to peruse my dreams. This year has been extraordinarily special! I have gotten to attend rock concerts (including Kid Rock, Motley Crue, Poison, Styx, Boston, The Scorpions, Buck Cherry, Papa Roach, and many many more!), amazing private parties, and every rock event in the city. I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many incredible Chicago people! But most of all, I think I can officially call Chicago the “City of Rock” because no place on earth rocks like Chicago does! I love you all and thanks again.....YOU ALL ROCK MY WORLD!
Now that my reign as the Loop Rock Girl is over I am continuing my full time career in the entertainment business. I am my own manager for now and enjoy overseeing my own business and working for myself. I am always looking to book work and would love to be offered a full time position on air, on television, or even in your next big motion picture.
