This book really drew me in to the emotional roller coaster ride of being a battered wife. I felt the author’s love, fear, hope, despair, and everything in between. In the end my spirit was lifted by the author’s strength and courage. This is a must read for anyone who wants to understand the reality of domestic abuse and not just know the statistics. This book can help foster change by helping all of us to understand the nature of the problem. The first step in change is knowledge and this book offers that and much more.

Kelly Cyr met Kane on a blind date. He swept the divorced mother off her feet. His letters were filled with love. She’d never known anyone like him before. He cried for his children. He played on her sympathies. Kelly wanted "to save them all." Early in the relationship Kelly was paying for meals, hotel rooms and vacations. Soon Kane was moving in with Kelly and allowing her to support him. It was a matter of just a few weeks when his three children moved in for the summer. Next she finds out he’s behind in child support.
A short time after merging households, Kane began showing more of his true colors. Even though they he was not working and she was his sole support he ranted at Kelly because she purchased a used stereo. He accused her of alcoholism and attempting to pick up men. Then came the beatings. Kane begged forgiveness, he pleaded that he would change and again he played on Kelly’s sympathy.
"It was an ugly, sad life I was living with this terrifying monster who was out to get me. I felt helpless trapped. He was supposed to have loved me, but he treated me like he hated me. What had I done that caused all that viciousness and hatred towards me? All night long, I laid awake and wondered, my God what will I do."
Kelly Cyr courageously shares her testimony with her readers. "Supreme Love" is the story of the author’s triumph over an abusive husband. She skillfully bares her soul so that readers may have hope. I admire Ms. Cyr for her bravery. Her story is one of victory over inconceivable obstacles. I highly recommend this book to everyone. The crime of abuse must be brought to light so that all may understand.

Supreme Love is a great book that pulls you into the life of Kelly Cyr...You want to cry, laugh and keep reading just to make sure this poor woman makes it out of this horrible situation! It’s hard to believe any one could live through everything in this book...It is a true testament of how strong we can be when we really need to be, and how God is with us always even if we don’t think he is. It helped increase my awareness of early signs of future abuse I think every young girl should read this if for no other reason than to potentially get out of a bad situation before it gets horrible, or avoid trouble all together. I got so much out of it...read it and there’s no way you won’t be affected.

Theres almost a ghost about your page that underlines something so easily under-estimated and sadly in very short supply these days... and that is the power and belief of ""hope""..... but I dont mean the wish-fulfillment type or the ego stroking one that the mdeia seems so intent in shoving in all and every orifice that we possess..... Yours comes from a reality that is an incredibly important first step into that which is both destiny and selfless awareness....
