.. ....The new Team B ep is done! It has been a long time in the making (some of this material stretches back 4 years or more). All of the lyrics on the album are by the late Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Theodore Roethke. I have been a fan of his for a long time and am excited to be able to put some of his words to music. It features many of the Team B peeps as well as fellow Beiruter Perrin Cloutier on accordion. .... Just click on the image below to download the MP3s and artwork. It will also be available on our website www.teambnyc.com in a couple of days. I plan on releasing this on vinyl only a little later in the year, so get it for free while you can!.... .. TODAY'S THOUGHT IS ABOUT THE GENIE IN THE LAMP ...
A man had just gone through a bitter divorce.
One night, he discovered what appeared to be an old oil lamp. He rubbed the lamp, and sure enough, a GENIE appeared right before his eyes.
The GENIE, knowing about the man's recent divorce told him that he had 3 WISHES - on the condition that the man's ex-wife would be given DOUBLE whatever the man wished for.
For his first wish, the asked for ONE MILLION DOLLARS. Suddenly a briefcase appeared, and opening it up, the man discovered ONE MILLION DOLLARS in cash inside the briefcase. At that very moment, 2 briefcases suddenly appeared in his ex-wife's house containing a total of TWO MILLION DOLLARS.
For his second wish, the man requested a new Rolls Royce automobile, and at that instant a brand new Rolls Royce pulled into the man's driveway. Just across town, 2 new Rolls Royce automobiles pulled into the driveway of his ex-wife's house.
The GENIE folded his arms and asked the man, "What is your THIRD WISH?"
And the man replied, "GENIE, I want you to BEAT ME HALF TO DEATH."
A DAY WITHOUT LAUGHTER IS A DAY WASTED!
