Lyrics I was crowned Mrs.United America 08/09 - a former Mrs. Texas UA and former Mrs. Austin. I know people have ideas of who they believe beauty queens are. Let me just tell you that I am a REAL Texas Woman. The Stereotypes do not fit me. I’m a down to earth, working class girl. I live in a charming middle class home with my adoring husband and two high spirited children that keep me laughing and on my toes!
I am like the many other strong, amazing women of Texas who go to work in the morning and help the kids with school work and fold the laundry at night. (There is always at least one pile waiting to be put away). You can find me with my motley crew enjoying breakfast at Kerby Lane Café, taking in a music festival, volunteering for Texas charities or shopping at local Austin owned boutiques. I truly enjoy getting out and about in the Lone Star State, kids in tow, to promote, volunteer and work with the wonderful organizations of Texas.
I have particular fondness for encouraging a healthy life style. My main platform is the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids. I have been involved in volunteering since 1999. I earned a Gold Presidential Volunteer Service Award for my efforts in 2004. I was recognized in 2009 at the Texas State Capitol for my community service by the state senate.
My Professional history has a common theme. I have worked with woman in health based services for years because that is where my heart is. I am a certified childbirth educator and doula, I ran a successful weight loss clinic and currently am an endermologist working at In Touch Med Spa.
