Sounds Like
Roadhouse Rock and Blues. Vocally Kelly has been compared to Janis Joplin, Melissa Etheridge and Fiona Apple. The band has been compared to the classic rock bands from the 60's and early 70's and a few southern rock bands. *******HERE'S WHAT OTHERS SAY**Kelly’s Lot live up to their reputation as a blues-rock band with an alternative edge. Watching them is like experiencing the Blues Brothers backing Gwen Stefani - Tom Laurie from Music Connection.**You have a bluesy folksy style with guts. Bonnie Raitt on caffeine - Carlton, Texas**It might be unfair to try to draw too close a comparison, even on the level of titles or general theme, with Janis Joplin, but this lady pumps out some awesome blues vocals with the support of some fine musicians that sends a shiver or two up my spine. Great stuff - Electic Connection Radio**It's polka...no, it's blues...no, it's crossover country/rock...no, it's Kelly's Lot! - GoGirlsMusic.com**Imagine if the talent of Led Zepplin, Heart and Janis Joplin were confined to a coffee shop and you walked by while they were playing. Chances are you'd buy coffee there on a daily bases, even if you were allergic to the stuff. That's the feeling you get when stumbling on Kelly's Lot - Gregory, Ventura**I started out thinking you were kind of Chrissy Hinds type, then Ronstadt-esque, then Cher, Carly, and all that, then I realized you're a total original. You have a great voice, and you're a terrific storyteller - Steve**I hadn't a clue as to what type of music it would be and found it to be some great straight up rock and roll. Exceptional musicians the whole "LOT" - Kevin, Rock City News.
New CD "Pastrami and Jam" is now available at http://www.KellysLot.com/testspin.html.
Kelly's Lot weaves a variety of styles on a blues/rock foundation. Their sound is upbeat, heartfelt and fun and audiences walk away with a smile. After Rock City News crowned Kelly’s Lot “Best Blues Band” at a yearly awards show, the band started booking blues Festivals including The Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland Oregon, the Big Fish Blues Festival, Maxson Roadhouse and the Pasadena Blues Festival. They have opened for Tommy Castro, Shemekia Copeland and Curtis Salgado and have hosted 2 Blues events for charity. Kelly's Lot was formed by singer Kelly Zirbes after years of songwriting and playing solo. Kelly Z recorded her first demo CD, "Kelly's Lot", with J. Peter Robinson, composer and former keyboard player for Phil Collins and The J. Geils Band. Next were 3 live CDs, "Live at The Troubadour", "Stop And Make A Difference" and "Trio". During that time they headlined local festivals, toured regionally and went on 2 national tours. Kelly’s Lot has been featured on many media outlets including ABC Perspectives, Channel 4 in Milwaukee, Rock City News, LA times, Pasadena Weekly, Independent Songwriter Magazine, Mixdown Magazine, The Debra Duncan Show, Good Morning Texas, The Gordon Keith show and Fox TV Houston. Many USA radio stations, traditional, college and internet have played their CDs. The next 2 releases "Come To This" and "The Light" were played on traditional and internet radio overseas in Europe. With the help of European fans they toured across Belgium and France last year where they acquired an agent and are planning their next tour for September 2009.

HERE's another REVIEW OF OUR NEW CD "The Light" by Billy Bunker!---------- Kelly's Lot has pulled out all the stops and turned the blues up to 11 on their amps for an assault on the darkness aimed at shooting off the lampshades. This album breaks on through to the other side of midnight. At first listen to Kelly Zirbes' blast above the tower of power I say, "We've had this date from the beginning!" Hang on to your illusions if you can, all that ambition that's been driving you may find a little focus in this Lot's blast furnace to knock right off the road to nowhere. That's hyperbole. I know it. I'm trying to find a clever way to say it. This album moves me. A great album should not be a guilty pleasure, it should be worthy of your heart. This album will damn straight get somebody through a month they might not make it any other way. This band did what music is supposed to do. Hi Kellys Lot, Heaven & Earth is on hiatus now as Stuart Smith and Richie Onori have joined forces with bassist Steve Priest to reform "Sweet". For those of you unfamiliar with the band, Sweet originally formed in the early 70s and went on to sell over 40,000,000 albums with 11 International Top Ten Hits such as "Ballroom Blitz", "Little Willy", "Love is Like Oxygen", "Fox on the Run", "Teenage Rampage", "Action", "Blockbuster", "Hellraiser" and many others. This reincarnation of the band reformed last year, playing their first show in June, and went on to play festivals throughout Canada and the States and had played to over 300,000 people before the year was out. During this tour last year they recorded a live CD available on Amazon entitled "Sweet, Live in America" which has received rave reviews - pick up a copy and please Add Sweet As Your Friend On Myspace! http://www.myspace.com/thesweetband Also, check out our friend Red Hot Chili Pepper Chad Smith's new band, Chad Smith's Bombastic Meatbats and their iTunes Top 10 Funk/Jazz debut release, "Meet the Meatbats"! http://www.myspace.com/bombasticmeatbats
