Kelly started out her career as an actress in England. Whilst on tour she began playing the guitar and singing and writing music. Before she knew it, Kelly had strong interest from anyone who heard her. So she began developing her music and soon she was working with producers both in New York and London.

Although she is primarily a solo artist, Kelly has also worked with many producers on different kinds of music from trip-hop to folk:

It can't be easy being a singer-songwriter these days. Devoid of band mates to shoulder blame on, teeming with the right level of angst to fill your tracks with emotion but not too much that you fall into a drug-addled hole and having to stand on stage and keep your head held high when James Blunt has more or less monopolised your market. The fact is, if you are going to be the next iconic tunesmith or suburban coffee table addition you need to look, sound and act like a star in the making.

Which is clearly the message that some kind soul told Kelly Waters not too long ago. She oozes with the kind of star quality that so many of her drabber, acoustic rock-by-numbers peers are severely lacking. The term is the industry would be bankable. Catchy songs, voice which pitches somewhere between Alanis Morrisstte and Lisa Loeb and painfully photogenic. Despite being first on and playing to a polite handful of crowd who were bothered to trek suddenly through the early summer rain you can't help but feel that it won't be too long before she is looking back at you from glossy pages of the weekend papers.
