Sounds Like
something familiar, but not specific. crunchy goodness from the bottom of the sea.
We rocked cause there was no other choice. A band of misfits, and we didn't wanna be dentists.
Greetings all visitors - thanks for coming to this last little mote of what has now become a fond memory. Kelp is done, for good or ill, but done nonetheless.
If you want to follow the paths that lead away from our little grotto of sound, you can enjoy the new adventures of KID JUPITER - the new band from most of kelp.
power-pop quintet from the green midwest, kelp takes it's mission of 'providing crunchy goodness to the masses' quite seriously. quirky nuggets of sound that stick to your cerebellum, the band's trademark vibe continues to convert.
kelp lives for the music, for the fans, performing 2-hour shows for adoring crowds, they are constantly penning new tunes and rotating the setlists. every show is different, unique, unexpected.
the playful romp through tangled debris continues. join up, daddy-o... join up!

Here is the blurb:
Nowhere
Zero hour
Kelp (formerly existing withing the confines of Cincinnati) Reality alternative
There's nothing quite so post-post modern as putting a band that no longer exists on the cover of your magazine, especially if all the band members are still alive. Taking the concept of "current events" and turning it on its head to blur the line between what is real and what is not real is often seen in visual works associated with surrealism, but is rarely seen in journalism.
The tactic fits in perfectly with the cultural subversives cum catchy pop/rock band formerly known as Kelp. When Kelp was a going concern, before the departure of lead singer Rena Hopkins some months ago (Hopkins left Kelp to pursue her theatrical career), they cloaked their fight against perceptions of reality in hummable, toe-tapping tunes. The fact that they aren't playing MidPoint, nor are even a band anymore, has not dampened their revolutionary spirit.
What do some of the members of the band formerly known as Kelp have to say about the continuation of the band's anarchic legacy/unexpected exhumation?
"We dig zombie movies O.K.," says Gary Weimer, Kelp's bassist.
"Can I get a resounding 'meh'?" asks Kent Meloy, Kelp founder and guitarist.
You'll dig it if you dig: "Dewey Defeats Truman!" headlines; Salvador Dali; H.G. Wells' The Time Machine; zombie movies, preferably Italian ones
Sorry about what happened Saturday night! I hope everything works out for you guys. I remember the same thing happened to us a year ago! What is it with Singers?
