KELTIAC'S melodic sound is based around traditional flutes, celtic harps
and the uilleann pipes, playing principally the compositions and
expressive arrangements (for all instruments) of Chris Dawson.
After initially touring as a duo (celtic harp & flute), a four piece band was soon put together and after a few line up changes in recent years the group has now developed into a six piece band with musicians from Brittany, Northern England, Ireland, and France :
The bands current concert line up is :
Chris Dawson - Flutes/whistles + Bouzouki, Mandolin, Didgeridoo
Kevin Camus - Uilleann pipes, whistles
Frederic Bougouin - Celtic Harps
Nicolas Metois - Bass
Thibaud Grek - Drums
David 'Hopi' Hopkins - Bodhran, Percussion(percussionist from legendary Breton groups Barzaz, Bleizi ruz, etc)
Chris has grown up amongst the fantastic musical diversity in and around Manchester and been particularly involved in the Manchester Irish/folk music scene and also plays the not so well known traditional music of his native region of Lancashire and the north-west in general. He is also known amongst traditional flute players for his flute making skills, with players such as Michael McGoldrick, Jean-Michel Veillon, Sylvain Barou, etc, all using his renowned bamboo flutes. . .and is also one of the rare flute players who can play the flute using circular breathing, a technique which allows to play indefinitley without a break in the note. . .

A number of compositions on the album were inspired by an ancient
