About me:
Kids Under The Bridge
Kemanci adventure started in 1986, under the old Galata Bridge. After the bridge had burned in 1992, Kemanci moved to Taksim/Beyoglu, where it started a 15 year -old culture of rock in Istanbul.
Preojecting the rock culture of Istanbul, Kemanci also projected its difference by its design and decoration. In Siraseviler/Taksim, it was more than a rock bar but a meeting point for rock fans. In 1994 Kemanci opened the second floor of the similar service, which was known as "Ust (upstairs) Kemanci". Later on, "Middle Floor" was opened where the concert and party organizations were held. Each of the 3 stories had 600-800 customer capacity and each had popular to alternative sounds of rock scenes.
Kemanci - having a very important in place in many rock bands and artists like Sebnem Ferah, Teoman, Feridun Duzagac, Duman or Ogun Sanlisoy - today has become a support for amateur musicians. In the new concept of Kemanci, a rehearsal and live record studio is also present in the club.
Today Kemanci is more than a bar or a club, but a museum that protects the culture of rock in the city and in the country. By serving music, conversation, friendship, food and fun to its friends, Kemanci will also be meeting rock fans and friends in organizations in or out of Istanbul...
