As a guitarist of L'Arc-en-Ciel, he made his debut in majors with the video EP “Nemuri ni yosete” and the album “Tierra” (Ki/oon Sony Records) in 1994, released 35 EPs and 11 albums so far.
In 1996, the album “True” sold over a million for their first time,and in 1999 the number of sales of double released albums “ark” and “ray” reached 6 millions.
In 1997, the ticket for their live concert at Tokyo-dome was sold out in only 4 minutes. Their live tour “1999 GRANDCROSS TOUR” (total 12 shows) drew audiences totaling 650,000 people, and was broadcast over Asian countries. In 2005 “ASIALIVE 2005” in Seoul and Shanghai were a great success and also made him known as a member of a monster band of Asia.In 2008, they had a big success in their tour, “TOUR 2008 L'7 Trans ASIA via PARIS” which they played 10 times in 7 different cities of the world. It includes a live show in Paris at their first time. The success of the tour made people think L'Arc-en-Ciel as not only “COOL JAPAN” but a great worldwide band.

On the other hand, he also plays an active as a Vocal and guitar in SONS OF ALL PUSSYS from 2002. With his initial impulse, he has done nationwide live tour, performed in SUMMER SONIC '03, and also live concert in Asian countries, and has released 3 mini albums, 3 EPs, and 3 DVDs so far. His activity is being developed with his desire “do something fun” simply and aggressively.

Ken produced MUCC and its new single “AGEHA” at his initial job as a producer in 2008. As he proved through his work in his past, it is not too much to say that he would be one of the greatest producer in Japan, considering his outstanding knowledge about music,technic and his sense toward bands he works with.

Also, Ken, as a solo artist, released a new single, “Speed” in Summer of 2006, which initially ranked at 4 in Japanese chart. This time his strong individuality and many sides of music character, like expression of his own feelings or ideal uniting of rock and emotions are emphasized strongly. The works that benefits from his experience of L'Arc-en-Ciel or S.O.A.P., or away from those something quite introspective, or something he approached experimentally.
All these works are the answer to what he can do as solo.
