Hard Road includes ten original Kenefick tunes, most authored by founding members Quintin Watts and Marty Wells. The pair describes its collaboration style as leaving works in progress on each other's voice mail, and cites the influence of classic songwriters Ray Price and Merle Haggard. Kenefick continues that tradition with cheating ditties such as Don't Make Me Come Over There, the dark and bloody ballad Long Night in Galveston and heartfelt odes to the Texas sky. Chron.com
